Is there a general excercise or activity that promotes fat burn in the core area or is it just a matter of good diet and overall calorie burn?

Ok so I'm doing lots of muscle (full/split body) workouts. My biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest, quads, hamstrings, calves and flutes all have shown results and gotten stronger. But my core (abs) are still just a blab of fat. Shouldn't I be noticing some results at this time or is it a matter of going at it for longer?

Any advice, tips are welcomed.
