I lost my retainer 6 months ago?

So, I got my braces off last April, and my orthodontist told me to wear my retainer constantly for 6 months and every other day thereafter.
But, come August, we went on vacation across the state and... well, I lost it in my dad's car when he totaled it. But, that was months ago and I haven't been wearing it, and I don't want my orthodontist to kill me for not having it with me and stuff... what do I do? thanks <3

If you don't want to waste getting braces in the first place, you need to get a new retainer made. It will likely cost a few hundred dollars but it will be worth it overall.

my teeth are fine, but I just don't want to be harassed by my ortho...

They will shift over time if you don't get it replaced. I guarantee they have already moved more than you know.

He is not going to harass you. You are going to pay for a new retainer which means money for his business. And you would literally be asking him to do his job.
