Does anybody exercise to improve their mood or their health and not for cosmetic reasons?

I am thinking working out in the gym but not so I can lose weight or look good. I want to exercise to add meaning to my life. this summer I plan on purchasing all the textbooks I will be reading next year and learning Hebrew and Writen Chinese as well so I will be doing productive things but will not be getting paid for it. If I work out I will feel less guilty about not having a job during the summer (I might get a job not sure yet). Also I think its a good way to make male and female friends as I am older than most of the guys in my university and they probably aren't datable to me.
