What's the story behind your permanent scars?

Since I was born premature, I had several surgeries and have quite a few permanent scars. I don't consider these to be "disfigurements." Each scar is unique in length and shape; I refer to them as battle wounds.
What's the story behind your scars?

Got a scar from a burn on my chin from playing with fire as a kid.
Got a scar on my right palm from a throwing knife.
Got a long scar up the back of my right hand from surgery to correct a compound fracture.
Got a big scar on the back of my head from wear a drunk tried to bottle me in cardiff.
Got a small line of scars from getting stabbed with a fork... by a drunk who seemed to think that my wearing a red shirt meant I was a rugby fan.
Got an apendectomy scar.
Got a small scar on the top of my forehead from tripping down a flight of stairs as a child.
Got a small scar on my left arm from a crossbow bolt.

But really the more interesting stuff is the broken bones. :p

I apologize, my intent for the question wasn't supposed to be taken as a "who has a better set of scars than so-and-so?" All of my scars are from surgeries; I wasn't involved in any accidents or did anything too dangerous, but I knew someone who had a lot of scars. One incident happened when they were young: they slipped on damp grass and their foot got caught underneath the lawn mower!

I actually agree with your intent. While we are more than a sum of our parts, the events we have lived through, and the scars those events have left on us (be they physical or emotional) are important to understanding how we work, and who we are.

Yeah my forehead scar (visible on current profile pic). Playing power rangers with my brother and my sister.

We were jumping on a bed and then I made a retarded flip on the air and then fell right on the corner of the bed furniture. Started bleeding badly and my sister told my mom I was dying so I went to the bathroom to look at it, and started flipping out crying so my dad went hysterical and took me to the hospital to stitch it up.

It happened ages ago but I remember it as it was yesterday XD

-I was 10, and my dad was chasing my mom around the house -physical fight- and he threw a glass at her that landed on my feet. I had 6 glass pieces removed & now my foot looks weird.
-When I was 18, I dated a guy that got so pissed off at me he head butted me (I wear glasses btw) -breaking my nose- which led to this weird scar on the middle of my nose under the nose piece of my glasses.
- I had my gallbladder removed the beginning of last year, so I have 3 scars on my stomach.

Hmmm.. Mine are from a breast reduction that I had done just over four years ago.. Although they have faded considerable, they are still noticeable.. Fortunately only my husband and I get to see them.

Scar to the left of my mouth - Attacked by a dog when I was 8 and had to get stitches. It bit a hole in my cheek you could see the inside of my mouth through. Now all that's left is a small scar.

Back and shoulders covered in scarring from second and third degree burns from severe sunburn

Scar across lower abdomen from surgery (removal of excess skin after a lot of weight loss)

Mum forced me to have cosmetic surgery on one of my ears because she didn't like it, so one there. Couple on my shoulders for reasons I'm not sure. My cock for obvious reasons, although I'm not Jewish you goy putz.
