Similar to that, I think that people attach importance to certain things and those that aren't truly important, they tend to forget easily.
So if your girlfriend finds something important and she's important to you, think of it in the manner that you need to remember this because it's important to her.

Brushing teeth is a habit, so I just remember to do it like I remember to eat but sometimes (rare) if I am rushing , I may forget. Lol
Other things like, remembering to tell someone something, appointments, etc, I have to write it down or do that task immediately instead of postponing it.
Do like me it worked write it down in a paper and loose that paper and u will remember it works for me I swear
just normal... specially If the level of priority is high

I have a lot of trouble remembering to put on my deodorant. I mean, I don't want to be stinky, but for some reason it is REALLY hard for me to remember. Now I have to bring a deodorant stick with me everywhere.
If you have difficulty remembering, you might want to keep a calendar - have a paper one and an electronic one as well.
I write them down somewhere and somehow I'll magically memorize what I had to do without even checking once.
If I'm worried I'll forget something, I put it in my phone and write it down on the calendar.
