I was at my tennis practice today and I unfortunately grabbed a pair of shorts and a short sleeve tshirt. It was less than 40 degrees with some breeze and cloudy skies. I played for two hours. My body was completely numb and my ears hurt from the cold. The wind kicked up towards the end and I felt like I was going to die I was so cold. (If you were wondering... I totally won both matches I played) now I'm home, two hours after practice and I'm shaking from how cold I still am. I already had a mild cold and sore throat. I just can't stop shivering. My body temp is fine and I'm in a sweatshirt and pajama pants, but it still doesn't seem to be warming me up. I hate shivering for so long! I had warm food to see if it would help, but it didn't. I'm still shivering badly. How do I get warm?
Keep your chest , feet and head warm and you will feel warm overall. There's a little trick I used to do when cold and that is to exhale out at my hand. Notice how it is warm? Now breather in and out like that , only deeper so as to maximize the heat produces in your chest. The breathe must be from the belly but at the chest it should be shallow (keep some air in the chest).
