Not at all. Well it depends on yourself a lot, if you find it hard to stay away from cheese when all your friends are having pizza.
But overall there are plenty of restaurants that have plenty of vegan options. Go more for ethnic restaurants rather than the typical steakhouse. Good places are latin American food, Asian or italian. Even middle eastern usually has a good few options. Asian places obviously the best, where almost every meal can be made vegan by replacing the meat with tofu. Burrito places are also good. Just ask for double the beans and leave out the cheese/sour cream... Indian places are heavily vegetarian anyway, you should find a lot of vegan dishes as well.
Even at McDonalds or Burger King you can get all the fries, fruit salad and salad you want. And they have a vegan burger here as well, though not sure how it is where you're from.
Most coffee places will be happy to replace milk with soy milk, or you could just not water down your coffee so much. And then obviously there's tea.
If you're in the US I'm pretty sure peta has a list of chain restaurants with vegan options
But ya obviously eating healthy and vegan when you eat out. But that's kinda true when you eat out anyway

It's not very hard once you get the hang of it, it just requires a lot of education and learning how to do things differently. It just takes time and you might have to make some adjustments, but you'll get used to it, especially if being vegan one day is something that's very important to you.
Personally, I took my time with it. I immediately wanted to be vegan after learning about animal agriculture (animal cruelty, environment, health, etc.) but I also wanted to make it last and do it responsibly. I went vegetarian first and just slowly made changes in my life. I even started carrying a little container of vegan butter around so I could still have my morning bagels on my way to school lol. It's not difficult if you do it at your own pace. It took me about 8 months to become fully vegan, but I don't regret it because if I had jumped in 100% and had done something wrong, I might have quit and that wouldn't have been good.

specifically tailored towards a good life?
not that hard in my opinion.
if you decide to cook all vegan meals at home, then it may be challenging, but still possible.
if you decide to eat out with a vegan diet, super easy (granted you can cover the expenses each time) and super tasty, which makes it super easy.
I have spent one and a half year of my life as a vegan, and I have to admit it was pretty difficult.
But remember , even one cheat meal and the counter is back again to 0.
