I was raised by my great aunt who was cursed with type 1 juvenile diabetes, celiac and Lupus.
I know a lot about diabetes from living with her. Her blood sugar highs and lows were insane. She could go from 21.2 to 3 in the blink of an eye. Sometimes she was lucky that I woke her up because she was mumbling to see if she was okay her blood would be extremely low. She's not doing well now and has had diabetes for almost 14 years. Doctors say most people don't live past 13 in her state. She's skin and bones and it make me so sad sometimes. I wish there was more that I could have done to help but I took so much time off school to stay home with her I didn't graduate highschool and am now just going back as an adult. I don't blame her for it I just feel bad that I couldn't so more for her physical health.
It made me realize I have to make sure j take very good care of my body because I've seen what she goes through and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. She tests her blood up to 30 times a day
Doctors don't know what to do and some don't believe her but I've seen the reality and the proof is there.

Hmmm, I don't have diabetes but my mom does. I know a few people who have diabetes that aren't as closely related to me. My mom's sugar was pretty bad for a while but after this new medicine, it's gotten so much better. I wish she would eat better and then I think it would go away since she only got it after treating her body very bad (she developed diabetes less than 4 years ago)
My grandpa died of diabetes, and one of my aunts has it. I think diabetes 2 runs in my mother's side. However no one in my father's side has it.
I will make sure to have a healthy lifestyle not to have it myself, I actually took away all the processed food and "bad carbs" from my diet :)Dont have it but know those who do have it. Type 1 and Type 2. But the people who i know that have type 2 aren't overweight. I think thats the misconception that only heavy people get type 2 diabetes.
