What do you use and why do you love it? Also have you tried any you hated?
I don't want anything that is going to lower sex drive as mine tends to tank during pregnancy, so looking forward to its return.
Thanks!☺
Been on Yasmin for almost 4 years in total. I love it. It keeps me safe, keeps my skin clear-ish and no cramps. Plus I always know when my period is coming. i've never experienced a change in sex drive or weight gain on it. The only drawback is if you use it for protection, you need to take it daily around the same and be 100% committed to it. I've probably been late on one pill in the last year and never forget to take. Therefore, I've never had pregnancy scares.
Awesome. I'll look into it as well! There are just so many options, but so much back and forth on them. Thanks for the suggestion!
Yeah it's really difficult. I am considering to get a IUD next year though as it's apparently more effective with seizure medication that I have to take. I also think it has a slightly better success rate if I'm not mistaken. But for now, the pill has worked amazingly.
I have the mirena IUD. I had a stroke on typical hormonal birth control pills, so for the longest time I went without. I've had nothing but success since I've had the IUD implanted. No change in sex drive, no period, minor pain upon implantation, but beyond that, smooth sailing.
Wow, yes the risks are crazy! I have heard good things about Mirena and I'm leaning that way as of now. The IUD seems to be the safest option it seems.
It's great. I like that it's a localized hormone instead of systemic; it's safer, and when and if you do want to conceive, you just get it taken out and bam, you're good to go.
That's what I like about it! And I think the copper ones don't even release hormones from what I understand? I'm thinking this will be the one I go with. Thanks for the info!
Correct, the copper ones like the paraguard do nothing to stop periods, cramps or ovulation (extremely heavy periods can be a side effect), they simply alter the ph of the uterus to make it inhospitable for sperm and ovum.

If you`re good with a needle, you could just sew your man`s penis shut. You won`t have to worry about accidentally becoming pregnant after that.
I do have a suture kit in my cabinet 🤔. Let me sleep on it...
It`s double protection. If you do have sex, the sperm won't fertilize the egg, but likely as not you won't even have sex in the first place.
Well see... that's the thing... I kinda tend to enjoy sex... so looking to hop back into our high drive practices. Maybe I should skip this suture idea...

The shot... i hate having to go in and get it but for the time it last compared to the pill its better to just get it out of the way and also you don't have to worry about forgetting to take a pill. But i still use condoms if i have a suspicion.
Yes! I definitely would forget to take the pill. That's what I was on before too. I will look into the shot as well!
Hated the shot. Love nexplanon. Still on it. Side effect is no period for me. Which I like about it. Super safe and fast. Also hate anything that's goes in the vagina.
Thank you so much!
I used to use it and it didn't lower my sex drive but I use it as little as I can because of the cancer risk.
I know right? In researching them I feel like "pick your poison. Would you rather risk cancer or heart attack? Blood clots or hair loss?". It's crazy.
It's not even that straightforward to begin with some cancers like Ovarian they'll drop the risk of developing but they will also increase the risk of breast cancer. Do you ever want to have more kids?
You're right! And I don't know. I'm not ready to permanently shut that door. I thought about just getting my tubes tied but I'm worried that I will regret it. I'm not sure that I feel done of that makes sense.
I use Demulen 30 and I find that it doesn't affect the way I am at all, but serves its purpose :)
Thank you! Going to check it out now! = )
What have you done the past 11 years?
Pulled out. But this is baby 4 for us and we have had several miscarriages. So pregnancy was our goal, but now we do want to slow down but nothing permanent.
Oh ok. I thought you guys just went cold turkey on the b. c.
Me dumb
