If I quit smoking will my vocal cords heal?

I love to sing but as of lately I've noticed I can't hit certain notes anymore. I'm really upset about it. Did I totally mess up my vocal cords or do you think it's early enough that they might repair themselves? I have 4 days under my belt now.

Well there's no guarantee you haven't already caused permanent damage, but if you want a chance of ever hitting those high notes, definitely quit. Actually, just quit either way.

Are you sure it was smoking that damaged them? Usually takes years of that and you're still young, may take time to get better if it was the cause
