Who classifies themselves as overweight according to this system of measurement?
Do you agree with the system?
I am in the healthy range according to my BMI. 5'6" and 145lbs. I also have a healthy fat percent and waist/hip ratio. I tend to think BMI is BS because when I was 10 pounds overweight I had a healthy body fat percent and I was toned, not flabby. I have a naturally curvy body so I really don't see myself as ever being a size 2, but all that counts is that I feel healthy and my doctor agrees that I am at a healthy weight for my body. I don't know if I buy that 98% of men find the hourglass figure unattractive. I know it is not true in the region I am from anyway:)
Yeah I'm not unnattracted to hour glasses, I prefer hourglasses. bmi is so stupid I think because if I was to be within the healthy weight range, id physically look drained and even if the number is in the healthy range according to bmi I would look underweight in appearence
I'm pretty sure that you got the stat wrong. Most men like the hourglass shape. If that's not the most preferred, then it must be pear shaped.
I am in the healthy weight range for my BMI
For my weight range it's from 95 lbs to 148 lbs, depending on age.
Who cares, underweight, overweight,as long as you like yourself I guess it's irrelevant. But I aso get a monthly check up due to being on Accutane,so I go by what my doc says(I'm healthy). She weighs me and checks my height and blood pressure
What's your goal weight? Are you going to lose weight?
Mine is 95 to 100 haha
Im in university now so I can't really manage my weight very well yet since I'm trying to save at the same time and I have no income lol. I plan on gaining weight and becoming around 250 about or maybe more, I want to see how I carry it since at the moment its only muscle.
Why do you want to be that weight, do you want to be that weight based on the number or because you think you will look better that weight?
I want to be really thin, thin is better than being "curvy" or being an hourglass,so I'd rather be that.
But I knew a guy,he's a football player at a big time college, and he was 6'3 and 180 and people always told him he was too skinny,I doubt you're overweight. He was skinny for a linebacker
I know you don't care about peoples opinion's and probably are doing it to please yourself but I'm mainly attracted to thick curvy women, being that skinny is unnattractive to me but I guess some guys like it.
The BMI says I'm nearing obesity, I'm not very far off at all just a couple of pounds really
It's more of a personal issue than wanting to please guys or girls for that matter. But about 98% of guys think an hourglass figure is just fat and unattractive haha,so better to not have it.
I wouldn't put it at that high a percentage of guys like that, but everyone has tastes so different its impossible to please everyone. Some people say what I like is fat, I don't consider it that I'm just happy if the weight suits her
I'm pretty close to your height and weight, about 210 lbs and 6' tall. While I am a bit fat I have a very naturally muscular build and I haven't weighed under 200 since middle school, even when I was thinner and more healthier and active. So if I'm going by their standards I don't think I'll ever be considered a "healthy" weight. I don't think these internet BMI calculators are that accurate or how they really calculate BMI. I know they have a lot more tests if you really want to know your BMI.
Yeah the lower end of the bmi says it would be healthy for me to be 145 as a minimum, I can't imagine how grossly skinny that would be
Although BMI can be used for most men and women, it does have some limits:
* It may overestimate body fat in athletes and others who have a muscular build.

according to my BMI I'm 25.7... so just slightly overweight.. and I think I look it, but other people tell me I don't look overweight.
i also think its bs that it doesn't take into consideration any muscle.. cause I have a bunch of muscle from playing sports...
I am almost considered obese and yet I look to be in the normal range. I'm really 175 and I have been told I look 140. height-5'6"
I'm overweight lol. But my Dr says I'm fine just 10 pounds that's all.
My Dr don't go by BMI she goes by body shape muscle bone smb as she calls it. We not all the same I guess.
You forgot underweight option :(
Oh how heavy are you and what weight should you be?
Well I'm not underweight I'm still in the healthy range but just barely (by one point), I'm 130lbs and my BMI is 19.8.
Idk. I'm 6'2" and 145~153 lbs.
I'm borderline underweight, so sexy.
I am right in the middle of my recommended bmi.
