3 or 4 months ago is when the symptoms started. Initially I just used some over the counter cream, but that didn't help, so eventually I got an appointment. I could only see a nurse though, she said it may be fungal and prescribed some cream, which I used as directed, but it hasn't got better, and in fact in the last 2 or 3 weeks it's gotten worse...
...I moved house in the last 3 weeks as it happens, and I also think it's worth mentioning that I have always had a mild intolerance to dairy (except as a young baby when it was more than mild and I had terrible eczema on the head that made me bleed). But anyway I somewhat ignore my dairy intolerance - on the odd occasion I'll treat myself to pizza, and recently I made my delicious lasagne for the first time in months...
...so anyway I have a really sore, itchy sort of rash on and around my a**hole... I keep being tempted to scratch at it through my clothes as well. If I look in the mirror it's like there's a big red circle on my bum.
I've thought that it's very likely an allergic reaction to dairy products (considering that I've been ignoring my intolerance lately), but I've also considered whether it might be a fungal infection, a bacterial infection or some sort of parasite (scabies)... or maybe just eczema. In high school my lower legs ended up bright red one winter because of eczema that I scratched, and I had to wear bandages. Generally speaking I do tend to get eczema sometimes in the cold months.
