I've tried a few things, it kind a depends on what caused me to break out, and I can't miss a wash on my face, or the oil flares up like mad. Ugh. Anywho, here are a few ideas:
1. Zeno HotSpot
It's good for 80 uses - which is pretty fair for the price. It works by slowly heating up to a temperature that kills the bacteria. That way, the pimple doesn't come back due to insufficient cleaning.
2. Neutrogena Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight and Fade Gel
It claims to work in eight hours and has dual action. It has medicine to clear the acne spot and it also has ingredients that will fade the redness. I like to use it if I'm noticing some pre-breakout redness or when I'm going to head to the pool without makeup. I think it's very effective.
3. Proactiv Refining Mask
I think this is better for more difficult spots and convenient if you've already got Proactiv products. Put it on at night and wash it off in the morning.
4. Plain Colgate Toothpaste
Some people swear by it for clearing up acne overnight. Honestly, it's never done the trick for me, but it probably has something to do with my skin type.
5. Pepto-Bismol
A guy friend of mine breaks out every time he eats chocolate. His skin is kind of dry. This is what he uses and it works really well for him. Dab some on and let it dry.
Those are my top suggestions, I hope you find something that works for you

A whole bunch of 'quick fixes' I've heard of are...
-a dot of lemon juice
-vodka
-toothpaste
& saltwater.
applied to a zit.
Anything that acts as a bleach, or dries out the skin may help.
(I wouldn't HIGHLY reccomend any of these, but still worth giving a go...maybe? )
I've found that going to the beach really clears my skin up.
perhaps it's the combination of the saltwater, sun, and sand (for exfoliation.)
I'm also using a spot treatment by clearasil called 'Clearasil ultra acne treatment cream -extra strength ' it's really good for singular spot treatment...well ^thays what I found anyway.
good luck :)
What I usually do...is pop/scrape the pimple until the pus is flowing out, then I wash my face with my normal face wash, and either use astringent or rubbing alcohol on the pimple.
I don't get breakouts that often (lucky me), but when I do, that's how I handle them and they go away quite quickly.
Well I am very very lucky beause I get cystic acne... have 3 cysts on my face right now :(. I haaate it. I'm currently on a antibiotic and use clindamycin. We'll see, I get bad flare ups from time to time... this is one of those times.

ice cubes. run one over the pimple and the swelling will go down, and the redness will get better after the skin's warmed up again. do that about two or three times a day. it should help!
you could also try smearing moisture lotion (or anti-infecting-cream) on it to make it pop quicker or make it go down, and thereby speed up the healing process. don't pop it by hand unless there's a big white or black head on it! can't stress that ENOUGH!I use this stuff: link
(I'm also a chronic pimple-popper, even though I know that's not the best thing for your skin. I don't get them too often, though, and that stuff greatly reduces the problem for me).Why don't you want to use something out of a bottle? Pimple removers with Salicylic acid are still the most effective, quickest and safest thing out there.
ever tried Zeno Zapper? uses electrical impulses to kill the bacteria & stimulate healing
well there is an oitment named clearisil I guess. works great. but I don't have must pimples even my skin is oily
Put toothpaste on it. Sounds weird I know...
