How old were you when you got your wisdom teeth?

Of course these questions are for people who have gotten them.

How old were you when you got your wisdom teeth and how many, if any, did you have to get removed?



Have any of you gotten all four taken out at once? If so, say you had to do it over again, would you do all four at the same time or do a couple at a time?

How long did it take you to heal?

On a scale of 1-10 how bad was the pain for you and how long did it last?

From memory, I was maybe.. 17 I think? It hurt very slightly for a short period of time, maybe a week or two, but that's it.

I had one taken out but the other three were fine (the dentist did want to remove those ones as well but there was no need so I didn't go through with it). It was awful. I couldn't eat solid food for about 5 and I'd wake up with a bad taste in my mouth every morning. I was back to physical activity (sports) after a week but it would still slightly bleed whenever I would for about 2 more weeks.

I had excruciating pain the day of the procedure after the painkillers wore off (I didn't have the chance to take more before I got home) but that was the only time it hurt badly since I had medication for it. I still had a mild headache often but nothing too bad. I stopped taking painkillers after about 5 or 6 days and was in no pain after that, aside from when my mouth would start bleeding from sport.

I suppose I wouldn't change how it was done because I really had no choice. It had to come out. But I certainly didn't enjoy the process, haha.

17 when they grew in, I mean. I didn't have one removed until I was about 21.

19 years old . two are impacted. the pain was pretty rough at first, but I'm all good

I got mine removed when I was 19. I really only needed the bottom two removed because they were growing in sideways but the oral surgeon told me the top two would be pretty useless without the bottom two so he took them all out. It seems like it would be a waste of money to have more than one procedure to have them removed. I actually was perfectly fine afterward. I had barely any swelling (that might be attributed to the face that I had been taking pretty heavy dosages of acetaminophen and ibuprofen up until about a week before hand for unrelated reasons). Actually the worst problem I had was with the pain medications my I was prescribed and I had the worst stomachache for about a week or two afterward. It even got so bad I would throw up, so I stopped taking it.

The pain was not bad at all maybe a 3 because of the bleeding. I had mine out during winter break in college I think I was 20. I had mine all out at once. Mine were all healed in a month its really no big deal at all. If someone makes it a big deal then they are a big baby.

18, all 4, no pain that I remember (thanks to vicodin) they did an iv and went to sleep. I wouldn't change how it was done..

I've just turned 18 and two of mine started coming through a few weeks ago. My gums got a bit sore around the site of the eruption but that subsided quickly.
