I would like a free dinner, but it might require a whole lot of flipping out and scene making. Also it might depend on if I had money to know I could buy a new outfit that was even better and equally or more expensive than that one. If I'm wearing it out accept the terms that something might get spilled on it, if I wasn't ready to accept that then I don't think I would've bought it.

This actually happened to me this year when I went out to a restaurant with friends for my birthday. The waiter apologised a hundred times and I was fine with it. It's only clothes, no matter how much it cost. I'm not gonna scream or get angry at someone for it. I'd rather not make someone else's day crap over clothes and I'm sure being a waiter isn't easy to begin with
Accidents happen.. I wouldn't make a big scene out of it. Just put yourself in the shoes of the waiter/waitress who bust their asses of and have to deal with annoying people the entire day (people in general are asses.. anyone in a customer facing job will agree).
I mean, stuff happens. I would be mad at the situation, but I wouldn't blame it on the waiter. I've actually purposely over tipped waiters when they didn't give good service. Sometimes people just have a bad day, and I don't wanna blame them for it.
A simple sincere apology is all I ask for, no biggy, shit like that happens, it's not the end of the world.
If you put yourself in their shoes, you would know how shitty and bad they would feel. No need for drama.
I don't wear expensive clothes, they'll eventually get dirty anyways so no point.
But if that happened to me, I guess a simple apology would be fine, but I'd get pissed though. :\
i'd not give a shit about my clothes... i'd be ok and i'd forgive him
BUT... if he dropped anything on my HAIR, then he would have the beatdown of his life

I would make the waiter pay for my dress...
Lol joke I'm not that mean, I know they don't have much money.
I would just say it's okay. What was going to happen was going to happen. And it was an accident so I wouldn't really care after 30 minsWell, if it was by accident, I would be ok with just a simple apology. I am veeeeeeeeeeeery clumsy myself, so I would understand. But hey, I wouldn't say no to a free drink or something ;)
It's more than enough. I'd immediately try to help them out. They'd probably feel extremely awkward about it so I'd try to calm them in my personal gawky way.
An apology would suffice.
Accidents happen, so it's not a problem.I would give them a big tip and say 'death to the bourgeoisie!'
I would expect the meal to free plus a couple more free visits..
but would not take it out of the waiters salary it was ancient that could happen to you or me.. and plus I have money and am not snobby especially about clothes. they come and goI don't think I have any clothing that expensive and besides accidents happen, no big deal.
Apology is enough
I don't expect him or her to pay
