What is considered long hair?

How long does a girl's hair have to be to be considered long? For white girls and black? I personally think black girls hair is considered long at a shorter length than a white girl's hair.

What to you guys think?

That's a good question. I've always thought of long as enough tp make a ponytail. I don't know if it's different for black girls. Black guy friends have told me their hair get's higher more than long in the back. IF that's the case, I guess their hair would be considered long sooner. The black girls I'm friends with have short hair & wear a weave, which looks awesome to me, so I really can't say. I hope nothing I said here came across racial. I mean NO offense! I'm just repeating what I heard...

No it doesn't sound racist at all. I personally hate weaves, too fake. their hair could get long if they took care of it, believe me I know, My hair is down on my shoulders and I started growing it nov 09

honestly a lot of people think race has to do with growth and length of hair to be totally honest iit depends on the condition and how the individual takes care of the hair ... personally indian women have the most luxurious hair I found out their secrets and now my hair ( I have permed black hair) is becoming soft, long, and managable. but to anser your question long hair just depends on how that person views their hair against others!

I don't know if you want a girls opinion, but I think anything beyond the shoulders is medium-long.

As far as the race thing goes, my boyfriends sister doesn't put in a weave and he hair comes right to her shoulders and it looks long to me, so I'm not too sure lol

I think long hair is longer than shoulders.. almost bra strap length (the horizontal part of the strap)

Hair that is shoulder length is mid length in my opinion

Short hair is chin length or shorter.

I think when black girls hair reach their shoulders or a little past it it is long because our hair is not usually as long as a white girls.

shoulder length is normal to me. people always say I have long hair and I'm like "wtf?" to me your hair is long when it hits your bra strap (the band you hook the bra together with) and that bra strap meter counts for both races
