500 days of summer alternate ending summer and tom?

How many people think it would be really cool if there was an alternate ending in 500 days of summer where tom and summer end up togather? they were so cute in the store with the furnature how summer takes his hand the elevator scene and how she glances over at him in the office to see if he's looking at her it seemed like she really liked him in the beginning. Yes I got the message of the movie and I get its unique and all but it would be cool IMO if there was an alternate ending.

No. That would be completely retarded. If you want an alternate ending, go watch "Sliding Doors" instead. The whole point (which you obviously *don't* get, despite what you say) is that it's a movie about two incompatible people in a doomed relationship, which can never have a happy ending (the voiceover even tells you as much within about the first minute).

You can't have a movie spend 90 minutes showing you how two people are obviously not right for each other, and then end it by saying that actually they live happily ever after. How would that be believable? It would be like James Bond defecting to the Russians at the end of a movie.

Personally, I think it's a bit of a cop-out that you get any happy ending at all, but at least it makes sense. Incidentally, it kind of reminds me of the cheesy kids movie "Little Manhattan", which is quite refreshingly believable (especially the ending).

it showed a lot of scenes where they are obviously compatible like the furnature scene where they are playing house how she takes his hand and just her body language torwards him says a lot like in the office how she looks at him to see if he's looking at her an obvious sign of attract I got the message you little smart ass and alternate ending wouldent have ruined the movie if not made it more unique but showing reality and a more unrealistic outcome like in that scene you obviously don't know.

what the body language signs of women are and how they act when they are attracted to someone I suggest maybe you read up about it and I watched the movie in the last 10 hours so I think ide have it fresher on my mind than you she obviously did like him in the beginning even in the end in a more friend kind of way but still could have been something don't bother replying because your ignored and blocked god I hate kids who are smart asses on this and THINK they are smart.

But if you get the message of the movie, you'd know that it would be completely wrong if they ended up together... The whole point is that he idealized someone who wasn't right for him, ignored the reality of their obvious incompatibilities (and ignoring her telling him many times that she doesn't want something serious) because he decided she was the perfect person for him. If they ended up together, it would send the message that it's perfectly acceptable to do that and all that matters is that you BELIEVE you're "meant to be" together.

I read what you said. I just don't get why anyone would WANT them to be together, even in an alternate ending. When filmmakers write alternate endings, they're not going to be endings that completely ruin the movie...

I f***ing hate that movie, she is just as guilty as he is. She knew all along that she didn't feel that way and that he did, he was an idiot for wanting her to be more.(I can relate) But she knew that he wanted more, and kept the relationship going, in turn perpetuating the situation even more. This is not a feel good movie to me, it's a crappy depressing movie that hits to close to home. Should they have made a alternate ending no. They would end up breaking up later. God I hate that movie.

Nonetheless, it was an original, just a sh*tty ending that I totally didn't expect. Zooey deschanel and Joseph Gordon levitt are some only good acting people in Hollywood.
