Yeah! Enquiring nerdy single guys want to know!
Actually, I've met only a few. Most of the nerdy stuff I do tends to be "guy" stuff, and the girls that DO show up are taken (married or engaged and or in a serious relationship). Most of my social stuff isn't "nerdy" and I'm self employed.
But, I would venture to guess that Science fiction conventions would work, if you can afford to go; Maybe things in the "nerdier" categories... I used to go to technical animation conventions (meaning that the lectures would be a half hour on the math and programming behind some motion capture or 3D modeling program).
I've found several through church singles events, but again, these girls are usually already dating (at least locally), which is odd for so called singles groups. Usually, though, some of these girls have hidden their geek tendencies; we become friends, and then I happen to see on Facebook that they like all these "nerd culture" things.
Sometimes you can find nerdy girls at bookstores, but that's not always the case. I would think comic book stores might have one or two.
Sadly, many nerdy guys can't always get up the guts to TALK to the girls. It's hard to meet other shy people when you are shy. Doesn't do much for survival of the fittest. ;) I suppose just learning how to talk to people in general, and having the guts to notice when someone is doing something nerdy... you comment on it. "Oh, you're reading Marvel's reboot of _________? Have you read "Marvel 1602?" Agh... don't want to ruin it for you, but there's a cool twist at the end... you have to read it!" Then go from there. I think that's the trick. Just do more "nerdy" things, and be more social about it.

Gaming conventions, anime stores, and gaming stores.
I am one of those girls...and usually I'm at home when I have some self time to do whatever. My games, books, and laptop are all there, so d:
When I'm out with friends, we usually just go downtown and hang at the comic book store or game shop/arcade. Once in a while I go out alone, and I usually just sit in a book store and drink coffee while I read. I also used to be active in clubs related to my interests...if you're in high school or college, that would be a great place to start. I was always so much more relaxed when surrounded by people like me, talking about all our adventures in Skyrim or whatever.
And really if you don't mind meeting people online, join Tumblr. There are literally tens of thousands of nerdy girls on there, and most of the ones I've met are flippin awesome :]
Well I'm into nerdy things... I like going to the book store, art shops, anime related areas and stores (FYE, hot topic, etc), game stop, if you want maybe if there's a local animecon or anything of the sort around your area, go.
But also, just around town, hanging out with friends and doing weird things. Not too hard to spot, especially when we're messing around and laughing xD I also just kinda sit and draw/paint/read, occasionally play my ds or something. Either inside or outside depending on the weather.
Hope that helped! Best of luck to ya! :)
The library and bookstore thing makes a little sense but is largely cliche. As a nerdy girl, I don't spend time in either one except to pick up a book (or in the case of libraries, drop them off) and maybe browse for specific authors for a few minutes. I know girls who aren't like that but I research books online before I decide to read or buy them.
Another good place would be at cons. Those things are often pretty expensive so if you're not nerdy you're not going to show up just for fun.

With friends. I have a tight knit group of friends and I'm usually with them. We go to a videogaming place a lot. You pay $6 for all day video games so we spend several hours in there just playing on computer, xbox or the couple of wii games they have (no ps3 systems).
Library, Museums, Bookstores, Craftstores, sitting in the park...reading a book, conventions, comic book stores, board/video game shops, the internet, by themselves...
I would say they stay at home that's why you don't see them. If you wanna spot some in the wild, take a look at cafes in the late evenings maybe try a coffee shop...Well I'm nerdy and honestly I love to just go places with my friends and I guess I just go to the randomest Things I can find so go try some new weird things most people wouldn't try. That's where you'd find me and my freinds haha
Maybe try the library, games console shops or join a free dating site where you can see what kinds of interests the girls have. Look in the more intelligent places, gym maybe, classes and interest clubs.
At coffee joints/cafes. Game and comic stores. We don't really go many places different than the average person. We're just a lot different in our personalities.
Same places where nerdy guys go?! I'm not gonna repeat the places that the others said cause they're right but mostly nerds stay at home. (of course you already know that)...
I like playing rpg table top games at game stores haha. That was back in high school though.
But now I'm at work or the grocery store.. lol. We're everywhere.I'm one of these gals, and I don't really "hangout" anywhere. I just do whatever I want..like sometimes I may be out of town, at the mall, getting frozen yogurt, just with friends doing whatever, and etc. I don't really have one spot or general area.
I usually meet them from school, or mutual friends...Or google a last name that I would like my children to have someday, and pick a guy from my local area...and stalk him. o.O I AM KIDDING. I just meet from mutual friends, mainly.
i guess I'm a nerd then...? all the junk the other girls and the lone bro said. I love barnes & noble manga section try there! ^.^
