Women judge more (in case you didn't know)

So I did an experiment to see the responses I get by asking a somewhat insulting question by both genders within our G@G community. This is the original question:

I wasn't originally intending to make an experiment out of this, but after getting so many negative comments for this question (mostly from females) I decided to make another account, pose as a female, and ask the same question to see if I get the same insults. Here it is:

As you can see, I was much more rude in the female version, and I STILL got much less negativity and comments in general. Here are some of the negative comments for the male version of the question:

This anonymous poster above was even pathetic enough to throw petty insults at me when I was polite to her the entire time. This is the only somewhat negative male comment:

There was a total of 8 female comments and 4 male comments. 4 comments were negative (1 male and 3 female). Most of the female comments were neutral with only 2 actually being supportive and the other 3 male comments were supportive. Now on to the female version of the question.

There was only one remotely negative comment for the female question and even then it is debatable:

The female question got 4 female comments and 4 male comments. Only one male comment is barely negative, and all other female and male comments were supportive.

This is a small example of how women tend to be much more judging and cruel with men then men are with women. Obviously there are exceptions to this, but nevertheless isn't it funny how the gender that is normally seen telling others not to judge the most is the most judging? I'm not saying that judging is all bad, everyone judges, but I'm just putting this information out there. The women that insulted my male question quickly jumped to the conclusion that I am an asshole with a bad attitude, but the men offered support and insight. In the female question both to women and the men offered support even though I intentionally made that question seem more insulting to men. I'm probably going to be called sexist (which isn't even the right term for this) or insulted by more women now, but they will only prove my point further. If a female posted this instead of a male, wouldn't it be perceived the same way as the female question?

Ok, yeah, small sample size. But it's true, it's all over the place. If you complain as a guy, it's because you're just too pathetic to succeed. But if you're a woman it's because no one is good enough for you and it's all their fault for being pathetic.

Women are socialized to be more judgmental and passive aggressive whereas men are socialized to be more easy going in interpersonal relationships. I think socialization and cultural mores have a lot to do with the behaviours exhibited in your questions.

@hellionthesage if you had actually read the study, you would know that it's comparing CULTURE and not biology. It's a sociological study. Therefore, female competitiveness is learned. Culture=learned behaviour.

Your aware that the article is from the royal society of biology and that socialization is biological which is why not every species on this planet does it despite its obvious benefits of survival? That we can directly link socialization to our biology and brain functions. That for instance certain developmental disorders despite biological in nature direclty impact socialization, whether that be increased socialization or decreese in it, whether it be a decrease in empathy or greater empathy. It is biological, its why we have miles of genetic code in our bodies, its not just there for looks. I'm sorry if this study upsets you, I am sorry it questions your idea that biology does not dictate our actions but that will not change the facts that biology very much does dictate behavior.

When more testosterone is introduced the subject becomes more competitive (a social trait) When removed they become more docile and when estrogen is introduced they become more social (a social trait) Tears and flushing of the face are biological traits designed to express emotions (social traits) in order to best convey them to others, empathy is biological having to do with facial recognition and the like, which is why people on the autistic spectrum come off as rude because there is a biological difference that effects there socialization. Neotanis traits like the juvenilization of the brain are biological in nature yet impact socialization. They are inseparable by there nature. Its a biological function. Its how they compete, low cost low risk yet relatively high reward. Basicly with this it reduces a womans social standing and sense of worth taking her out of the competition by acting in such a manner a woman can remove any woman that may be a threat, at least in the competition of acquiring a mate. Since women don't need to fight for an actually mate they don't need to put themselves at risk (80% of women prior to the creation of marriage reproduced as opposed to 40% of men) however they still need to compete for the best mates. Since a womans body is her bargaining chip (evolutionarily speaking) it would not make sense for her to risk herself so they developed (from there already well devoloped social skills) for lack of a better term "cattieness" which allowed them to reduce social standings of other women to increase there influence and better there chances at acquiring a superior mate without risking her market value to said mate.

@Cookies_AndMilk For me its not so much the behavior as the refusal to acknowledge it. If we remain ignorant of what motivates us and our actions we are far more likely to do something we will regrett and something that will hurt others so the best route is recognizing our actions and motivations to ensure the best outcome. Glad you can acknowledge it, that means that while it my slip out from time to time it won't be dictating your actions, only you will.

Yes exactly. I don't know, I think for most people it's hard for them to admit their faults, and for myself as well it may be hard to see when you're wrong when you're upset but it is something that needs to be recognized and dealt with. I'm honest with my boyfriend about my opinion on things and because of that he's understanding and even appreciates it in a sense. He says I'm passionate and I'm glad he's able to accept things about me and I him. Women need to be more honest with themselves, it does seem as though women have a hard time accepting their faults.

I found this actually very interesting, and yeah I agree, girls are very judgmental. Heck even I am and I really try hard not to haha.
Obviously there's no getting away with the fact guys can be to, but yes I get your point, and the experiment makes it clearer. Although just doing one experiment doesn't make it 100% accurate. But honestly, no judgement here. Good take.

Both men and women are just as bad... they both cheat, they both lie, they both judge and say things they don't mean, they both have insecurities of their own, both may express things a bit differently but it doesn't take a test to see this stuff, try living a life more, go on more dates, meet more people, you wil see that ether way both can be JUST as harsh in their own ways, it doesn't have to be in the exact same way, there are quite a few ways people can act judgemtnal and closed-mnded and there ae many ways in which they can be manipulative, doesn't have to be the same way to count as being just as harsh and judgmental.

You do realize that this is gag/the internet? People are more comfortable being brutally honest, trolling or whatever and saying things they normally wouldn't say to someone because it's hurtful. That includes both men and women.

But really, i don't see the point in comparing the genders in this way. It's not applicable to real life. You cannot assume any person you meet thinks the same as the standard, or that as a rule all women are more judgy than men there will always be exceptions in life.

Also how judgy someone is doesn't just depend on the medium or context, but also by the issue. In your case it's about stereotypes and relationships. So while women may be percieved by these results as more judgmental, when discussing a different issue like for example body image and self esteem, their might be a different result?

ofcourse women are more judgmental, try hitting on some women and you'll know, men get turned down for many reasons which wouldn't make sense to guys cause we men are pretty simplistic... for us looks is a quality which determine whether we'll date a girl besides taking into account whether she is classy or not. Its not necessarily that women are more judgmental than men. Its more that ALLLLLLLL women are born "victims" and all men are born "evil pigs". So when men are insulted, nobody cares, and they are expected to just put up with it. But when a woman is insulted, it becomes WWIII and everyone rushes to her rescue. 😒
