They can't take a joke or see humor hardly in anything, easily and sometimes beyond ready to be offended at the slightest things in general. It's frustrating.

a lot of people have been hurt, betrayed and used. So they are cautious as to who they trust and open up to. After going through years of been hurt and abused, people can become uptight. Or another reason can be for a person being uptight is that they can not see themselves in your shoes.

Because a lot of people are stupid enough to take everything personally. They see a sexist, racist or offensive joke and assume it's their obligation to stand up and make an ass out of themselves. What they don't realize is if they do that every chance they get they'll never have friends to brag to about how heroic they are.

Yeah it's because we don't have complete confidence in who we are yet or sometimes we just dont think saying something rude is funny even if you didn't mean it, which just proves that we are taking it too personally. Too bad! :)

I'm not sure, but I think in some cases at least, it has to do with the amount of things people have to deal with on a daily basis, I remember my last years of college, working two jobs also, I barely got any sleep, I'm not saying I was the only one, but worrying so much every day about responsibilities and money and Debts, Made me quite bitter, you couldn't even talk to me back then, although that might not be the case for everyone, at least some people just have too much on their plate
