Do guys have a diary?

I know many girls do, to write their feelings and sometimes take their anger out. But do guys? And if so, what do you write in your diary? feel free to be anonymous, cause my guy friends will just laugh at me when I ask them and I sometimes think that they wouldn't be honest even if they had.

I used to write in a journal with some regularity, haven't touched it for several months. Some guys oh this site think that it is "unmanly". I don't really care, I will pit my manliness credentials against anyone on here. Having a journal is a great way organize your thoughts, remember where you have been and what you have done, and keep focused on where you would like to go and what you would like to do. Some of the greatest men throughout history have kept a journal. So, I guess to answer your question, most don't, but the best of us do.

Yes, I have a diary. Call me gay, I don't care, I just love imagining myself writing something and then hearing my voice read it out in my head:

"Dear Diary,

Today was a good day. I finally got the guts to ask Alice out. She smiled and said yes. Then, I took out my machete and hacked her head off. I then dragged her body into the janitor's closet to separate the kosher and non-kosher meats from her body. There's a Will and Grace marathon on tonight. I should buy some popcorn.

A guy I dated kept a journal. So I guess it'd be the male equivalent of a diary. I thought it was cute.

I'm a guy, not gay either. My girlfriend and I have been together forever. Soon to propose. But I keep a journal, I write in it about everything. I do have a bit of depression and get angry at stupid things. Writing out some of my mixed feelings to reread later keeps me on the right path. As well as relieves some of my stress. I don't see how people can relate being gay to keeping a journal/diary. That's completely absurd. In the beginning I never thought it would help and always told myself it was stupid to think it would. I was completely wrong. If you find a time in your life where you can separate yourself from your cocky superman ego and actually try it you may be surprised.

Wow, didn't expect dudes to actually do that. Learn something new everyday. So, what exactly do they write... Something like, went to town today, talked to this chick got her number its -123-4567, she was an overall awesome person... Stuff like that? Cause that reminds me of like notes or something... Or do they start with like dear diary or whatever like the movies, seems more fluent the first way...

i have a diary. I call it a journal, lol. my last one took me two years to fill up. I don't write everyday only when something is worth writing about. about love or good times people I meet and just when I have something new to say. stuff like that.

Nope. It was a journal. That was addressed by Doug himself. In one episode the librarian said "Kid you forgot your diary" or something to that effect, and he corrected her, calling it a journal.

Eddy, Doug was in denial. He was trying to make Diary's more masculine by calling it a journal. In actuality, Diary & Journal are the same thing. Both are addressed as, dear diary/journal, & the contents are based on what happened to the writer that day or week, & what their feeling are. And before anyone asks, yes, I did watch Doug a lot when I was a kid.

Nope. Journal and diary are not the same. I have 2 journals and 0 diaries. It depends on what you write in them. Doug said it wasn't a diary, so it wasn't. I think he was writing an autobiography, not a diary.

But Doug didn't call it an autobiography. He called it a journal. Diarys & Journals have the same definition. An autobiography is something different, it is just similar. If you have two "journals," you have two diaries.

Diary and journal are sort of the same thing. you also get to write an autobiography in your diary. Guys call it journal because diary sounds girly. but it doesn't change the fact that they're the same

How is it not true? I have a girlfriend and keep a journal that I vent in sometimes. That doesn't make me gay. Call what I have a diary, I don't care but I call mine a journal because it's just a plastic notebook.
