Cheating is not gendered

The "guy cheats more" is just a stereotype. I know there are real players out there but it doesn't mean girls are generally innocent. If you think more guys cheat than girls, you don't think twice or that maybe under your circumstances.

If guys get cheated

It isn't always addressed and always get the blame even if it's not their fault. A lot pretend they're fine and you know what they say, "guys should always approach and man up" that's why we seem like cheaters but in reality we're all the same when it comes to cheating.

The response girls and guys get

And sometimes if a girl cheats it can be justified when she just vent. She can say she got cheated first and which one is believed more by society? And they get responses like "yeah guys always cheat" That stereotype.

Why guys brood more after a break up

If you ever wonder why is because they have to earn not just deserve a girl with no one believing in them and no recourse. Of course they do it alone because it would be inappropriate if they do it in front of someone even if he knows them. They don't wanna get called whiners. So for me, it's really hard to cheat. Not all guys are rich and only want sex.

The risk

You know it is a very big risk if a guy cheats specially after marriage. After a divorce, 1/3 of the husband's money goes to their wive and he can get kicked out of his own house even if he paid for it. No shelter taking them and no help from the same government which he paid taxes to after even if he's abused and the divorce rate is just high. Of course a man's reputation is really fragile and get subjected to social shame when they cheat.

Girls cheating is not addressed as much as guys cheating but I'm not saying girls cheat more.

Nailed it! I got basically EXACTLY the response on the right from fuckin EVERYBODY after that happened! And I got the news... over TEXT... FROM my ex DIRECTLY. EXACT message: "I am dating somebody else now. You and me aren't dating. Bye." We never officially broke up first. We had been flirting maybe days before. Oh and to top it off? My birthday was in ONE week from the time! NO sympathy from others. None. She actually seemed to MAKE friends after, while I LOST some! Then women laugh when guys say they want sex bots. It's getting to a point where dates have to be told the rules, and subjected to an Inquisition of sorts regarding any delusions of entitlement they may have. Weeding out such delusions of entitlement to sexual pleasure would have been a better use of the Spanish Inquisition than the pseudo-religious, political horse hockey it wound up being squandered on, to the point of being discredited.

Well to be completely honest, it still hurts. Thanks to her I've lost faith in love. As for my dad, he let it slide. He was angry , he punched, he cried but he kept it to himself, he didn't want me to find out. Little did he know, I was way ahead... But what broke and infuriated me the most was the constant hypocricy afterwards. They both acted like nothing was going on, though only when I was around. They were good at it. Oh, believe me, I'm WELL aware that cheating isn't something done only by men. I think the way people insist otherwise comes partially from the persevering "Men are sex-obsessed and can't HELP themselves" stereotype.

I do have some good news though; your information about alimony is off. Just because a divorce is take place between a married couple, it doesn't mean that alimony is automatic or guaranteed. So men going through a divorce can take heart: it's not a given that you'll have to give up your house and pay 1/3 of your income to your ex-wife... especially not if you end up homeless and in need of a shelter.

Also... it's not a guarantee that the MAN is the one to pay alimony... the spouse with the highest income is the one that's supposed to pay, and the reason why men more often end up paying is because men more often have the higher-paying job.

When my father divorced his wife (my step-mother), there was no alimony involved or anything like that. They sold the house they lived in, split the money, and moved into separate apartments. He never paid her anything.

@Paultripps You know kids are REALLY expensive to raise, right? The one who ends up with custody of the kids generally ends up spending the most money on them. So I'm not really going to be all that ready to feel pity for guys paying child support, especially if they just complain about losing their money. That's money they would or at least should have spent on the kid ANYWAY.

I will say that yes, it IS a lot more common for the mother to get sole custody of the kids, because most often the mother is seen as the primary caretaker of the children. But from what I have seen, courts tend to prefer awarding shared custody. In addition, by law the courts aren't actually allowed to show bias against fathers, so if the father can prove he's the better parent he actually does have a chance to gain full custody of the kids.

And I don't know, instead of the "she takes my kids and she takes my money!" attitude, shouldn't a father's primary concern be what's best for the kids?

Courts tend to agree. So unless she is a crack dealer the guy gets the short end of that deal. And even if moms can claim to be the better parent, what’s in the best interest of the child is to be raised by both. Unfortunately moms and the court seem to think our only valuable contribution is money, or “some scheduled time” so he is there but not involved. @Paultripps I'm not a US citizen, nor have I ever been married, and I'm actually infertile and can't have children, so all this is purely academic on my behalf. My sources are primarily two books, "Surviving The Breakup: How Children And Parents Cope With Divorce" and "Family Law and the Indissolubility of Parenthood." These books at least claim that there has been a major shift which is favoring joint custody in the United States court system, which began in the mid-1980s.

And yes, it IS more common for the courts to favor the mother. But by LAW they're not supposed to. It happens anyway, but men who complain that the law is biased against men are wrong. Courts certainly can be, and this is also a good example of sexism creating problems... people naturally assuming women are better parents just because they're women.

But again... I question your insistence that "women pull BS to get more money." Makes it look like you're not thinking about the kids at all, just about the money.

Well my ex wife is a divorce lawyer, so while not a lawyer myself I have vast and intimate knowledge of all her cases when we were together. While the math equation is gender neutral, it is the women justifying what they feel is the best interest of the child... when she really is just after the cash. It’s the women who make it about the money. So when we say she takes the kids the house and the money it is based on the reality of the outcomes in America. Those literally prevent most men from being able to afford a good place to raise the child/children then giving her even more custody leverage. I know the books you refer to but haven’t read them specifically. If you research percentages of custody and child support you will see the results are highly sexist and prejudiced against men. It’s not that men don’t want to be involved in our kids lives, we are actively discouraged from doin so. We have to fight for every minute of time we get with them in America/California...

I can't say who cheats more but I'd just like to give an opinion behind why girls seem to get more sympathy than men when cheated on. I've read around some blogs or psychology views on this: men normally cheat for sex. Why? Because of the two, men are more likely to bore and look for variety. It's the same reason why more men view porn than women, even after marriage to a woman they found attractive and love. This is even if their sexual needs are met. Some men just look for something new, fodder to their ego and need for power. Some women cheat when their emotional needs are not being met, and even if they try to talk it out, which women do, they still can't get it from their men, moreso with sincerity and not just obligation. When women don't feel valued and appreciated as a woman, and not just a mother or housekeeper, they will be tempted to look for validation from another. I agree that women can definitely cheat as well. I'm not sure I agree that it's at the same rate as men though. Of course, I could be biased but almost every girl I know has been cheated on at some point. I do know some men who got cheated on too but not nearly as many.

Personally though I do believe women cheat more than men. Growing up I used to be like everybody else and thought guys cheated more but now as an adult with more life experience I can say that I do believe women cheat more than men or are at least more inclined or "tempted" to.

Other studies show while men older than that cheat more (roughly 55 v 45 percent) that women tend to have.8 or so more partners when they cheat. So when women go there they tend to have multiple affairs, also increasing the incidents of women cheating more than men. Reality is the numbers are close enough to 50/50 now neither side can point fingers, but I agree with your my take women often seem more justified in doing it v men.
