Is that possible? Can you not think of someone when you admit you haven't forgotten that person? I've known him for three years, dated, fell in love, and broke up. Now it's bordering never being in each other's lives in general just because of how things went down after the break up.

It just means he obviously remembers you and what you had but he doesn't actively miss you or think of you on a daily basis. The memories may come and go but it doesn't linger. That's perfectly possible and actually normal. You cannot just ever completely forget about a entire human being. That would be strange.
