Why would an ex make a fake account to follow me?

Without going into detail, he broke up with me and we ended on REALLY bad terms and we blocked each other on all social media platforms. He got another girlfriend less than a month later, but I found out that they ended their relationship. He seemed to not care about me at all and was very toward me. It's been 6 months since then, and I miss him terribly. Basically, I know for a fact that this account is his. I'm the only unverified person they're following and has the last two digits of the year he was born. They have three pictures posted the day the account was made and followed me, and has just been hanging around on my list for the past two weeks. He flat out told me he doesn't care, so I don't know why he would make a fake account to follow me and my linked accounts?
