Why do people accept cheaters back into their lives and just bury what they did like it was ok to do?

To explain my question better , I was friends with a married couple The husband was such a cool guy , big heart Funny, outgoing Hard worker and the wife was nice as well, outgoing funny a little bit snooty but not completely , pretty much down to earth , they would invite me and friends to their party’s we were all friends all hung out and laughed and drank etc.. until the wife cheated on her husband , The husband showed up to my home out of the blue so sad and depressed and told me what she did , I felt so bad , that his wife cheated on him, cuz the guy had such a big heart and was so cool I got so pissed that she did that to him and pretty much befriended her and just considered her a cheating whore. I ran into her a couple times and I wasn’t an asshole toward her but told her what she did to her husband was so wrong and told her I feel bad they broke up , she confessed to me that she just fell out of love with him , I said, but you didn’t have to cheat on him etc. To make a long story short , The friends are still hanging out with her like everything is ok and no one talks about her husband or says how he is doing But she is prancing around like what she did was acceptable and ok and the friends act like what she did was brushed under the carpet , This is a common thing I noticed with cheaters , my question is why do people accept these cheaters back into their lives like what they did was ok? and the non cheater , no one cares about. What is wrong with people? Everyone says how they hate cheaters etc but they stay friends with them? people are so fucked up in this world , I am not
Friends with any of them anymore cuz I feel they are complete assholes and hypocrites for taking the cheaters side and acting like what she did to her husband never happened. Have you ever experienced anything like this? Are you still friends with a cheater , why do you stay friends with someone that is a pure piece of shit but you cry if you get cheated on?
