I am 21 my boyfriend is 20 we were together for a year and we loved each other a lot. Then he moved to another country to finish his studies, but he slowly started to get confused about us and our relationship, he wanted to have sex and be free while in a foreign country and sleep around.
He started fishing for fights and blaming me for trivial things, until one time he broke up with me over something silly, two days later he texts me and said that he never felt this hesitant and unsure about ending it with someone before and that he is in conflict, so he told me to give him time a month of break or for him to think, I was so sad and hurt but I agreed.
During this month I couldn't go online fearing that he hasn't messaged me which would have broken my heart, and decided to only check after a month, I also told myself that if he really wants to reach me he will try to give me an actual phone call rather than fb messenger. After a month a opened my messages and he has texted me two weeks into the month we had agreed on, which means he didn't want to leave me at this point :( but because I was too scared I didn't open my Facebook messenger except after a month I missed his message my two weeks. When I finally replied he was cold and uninterested, so I checked his profile and he had it "In a relationship with another girl" already !!! :'( I confronted him and he said that it could have worked if he was still in our country and bla bla bla...
My question is: is it my fault that I didn't check my messages on time? Did that make it easier for him to slip away? And I was the one who made us lose our bond :'(
