Have you ever been rejected after a few dates due to religion/caste/racial differences?

So there was this friend of mine who's girlfriend of six month broke up suddenly with him recently after a six months of dating with a very lame reason that he belongs to a different religion.

The mind-boggling thing here is that she already knew about his religion and also knew that he is just born into it, and is not a strict follower but still she broke up with him.

So what's your opinion, should dating be based on religion/caste/race? Should it make any difference?

I've dated people of different religions but if they pushed for me to convert to their religion then i’d breakup. I’ve dated an atheist ONCE. He kept questioning why i believed and i got sick of he disrespect because he’d never be satisfied with my answer so I broke it off. As for race, I’ve had guys flirt with me and ask me out. But when i asked if going on the date would go anywhere serious, their reply was “my parents prefer i marry my own race.” So no i didn't go on the date because it wouldve been a waste. Im not going to be a secret nor a temporary whatever

I need someone extremely similar to myself and that includes religious beliefs

No it shouldn't matter at all. Take my fiancé and I. We are from totally different cultures and religions. I am from India and he is Australian. He works and resides her 11 months of the year but grew up in Australia. We make it work to the point we are engaged.

I am traditional Catholic (not too much into my religion), and she was full on Christian, she said her family would prefer for her to meet someone on same level religiously and she wouldn't trust me I'd still wait till the marriage with sex (if I liked her enough and that was her thing)

She just wanted to break off and move on

I've been rejected fairly quickly for religious differences. On the same token I have rejected others for religious differences. I think people have right to their own dealbrakers and especially things like religions. That will effect how u raise kids together so if ur not compatible it's best ti avoid. So I don't get mad. To my knowledge I haven't been rejected on race but even that wouldn't bother me. Everyone can have a preference. I'm not entitled to date someone and I would want the person I date to be totally into me. I don't have cast where I'm from

Personally I haven't been. My family is from Europe and I live in the US though, so maybe it doesn't count for me.

But girls have never rejected me because I'm not fully American, in fact most of them seem to find my slight accent (that only really comes out when I'm tired or angry) funny and the slight cultural differences make for interesting conversations

No those rejections comes early. I usually don't even date them once. I simply don't want to share my life with a religious person. I have had to deal with enough of that shit. To want to invite it into my life. It's pure toxic for me.

It is all based on someone's preferences. There is nothing wrong with excluding out certain religions or races. It's all a preference. But what the girl did wasn't right. Maybe it was some other reason and she used religion to make it seem valid
