Has someone ever rejected you because of your race or your ethnicity without ever meeting you, and you knew it would happen?

Well, a couple of years ago this happened to me. One night my coworker suggested that I go on a date with one of her friend's who happens to be Russian. As she was telling me this, in the back of my mind I knew he wouldn't want to go on a date with me because I was black, and the next time I saw her she told me that he doesn't date black girls. I understand people have preferences or whatever, but he never seen me or met me, he just completely wrote me off because I was black. However, I still find it interesting and kind of funny how I knew he was just going to write me off because of that. Don't take this as me saying I think all Russian guys are like this.

This actually just happened to me. Met this girl, I think she's mexican, and I almost instantly liked her. I started plotting trying to figure out a way to get out of my comfort zone. Eventually, I had wiggled and pushed myself to get next to her, to talk to her, to try to get to know her; even was able to get her number. I let her know twice I liked her and wanted to go out; we even set a day. Unfortunately it did not happen and probably a month or two later a mutual friend told me that she has never been attracted to a black guy before and that she made it seem as though she was interested too as to not "hurt my feelings". I would like to think that I have gotten over it by now but i haven't.

I grew up in an area where it was mainly white and black people. I was always very much attracted to the girls outside of my race, but I regrettably held my tongue because I didn't think they would be interested. I did, however, approach girls within my race and have had situations where they rejected me because of it. One specifically said that she only dates black guys. Another girl had enough tact to not say that, but she was in a class of mine a year later and she was talking to her friends before class and she stated she couldn't see herself with a white guy, so yeah, that has happened to me.

One time a couple years ago I had some girls try to hook me up with this guy, but they lied to him and told him I was mixed. I'm pretty sure they did that because he wouldn't have gone out with a full black girl. So before we officially meet, my friend is like "oh yeah, we told him you're half Mexican..." I was like WTF why? That turned me off because I'm proud of who I am and I'm not gonna lie about my background to please someone, and #2 I wouldn't want to date someone who didn't accept me. But it was too late to back out of it and I didn't wanna come off difficult, so I agreed to meet him. He was not my type at all and was generally ignorant so I was like seriously?

This never happened to me. However I kind of feel the same way as the guy does. I don't think I'm racist or anything because I would be anyone's best friend but I personally never really took interest in anyone who wasn't white. Although I would maybe still go on a date cause I guess you never know, and if anything I'd meet someone new and possible become friends.

I have had a guy think I was... Spaniard and when he found out I wasn't get backed off a little..strange because he was German..anyways I would say yes I have probably more than once as people confuse my race for something else.

Yep, I am white and have been turned down by a black girl because of that. I think it's a real shame that people will make a judgement purely on skin color, Martin Luther Kings dream maybe one day will come true

Yeah I thinm a couple of Indian women I asked out MAY have rejected me for not being an Indian. But it's also possible they just thought I was too darn ugly.

I don't know. I'm Asian and girls from all races have taken an interest in me at one point or another.
