My condolences for your loss. But I think you already know you made a big mistake. You took the emotional equivalent of a blowtorch to your house just to kill a spider.
If you wanted space you should've told her and gave her a deadline for when you will reach out to her again. I. e., "I need 3 days to myself".
Mourning is a journey to a new normal there is no real end to it this side of heaven. You need a support systems to walk you through it. Otherwise you'll lose everybody and be off worse than you already are.

Well, first off, I am so sorry for your loss. Moms go through a lot and try their best to take care of you no matter what. I would say, try for a few days as friends, to let her be there for you since you said you broke up. If it feels good to have someone there for you get back together and use that to strengthen your relationship again. She seems to love you and want to make sure you are ok. To have someone who even though you pushed them away to still want to be there for you is a big deal! I hope you can chose the right path for you and for your mental health. Losing someone who means a lot to you is hard especially on your mental health. I am praying for you! I hope you can take some of your walls down to let someone who can be there for you into your walls. I hope you chose the best decision for you.

sorry to hear that. but your response of breaking up with your girlfriend is to make someone else feel as bad as you. that may have not been your intention, but that is what you're doing. people make others feel bad when they feel bad in order for them to feel a bit better. take as much time as you need, but just know that your girlfriend is just trying to support you in the best way she can. a breakup is unneeded. again sorry for your loss :(
