well true the odds of divorce are fairly high , one girl i know said all her friends parents are divorced but ehrs are still together so a lot of people have had to deal with this

Take a look at number seven. "Over a 40 year period, 67 percent of first marriages terminate." Over a long enough period, ALL marriages terminate; humans don't live forever.

The unfortunate fact is the institution of marriage doesn't really exist anymore among most people. That includes most people who believes in divorce and frankly anyone in it on the account of a feeling rather than commitment to family (children).

This institution will have to be reintroduced to our culture as something else. As we do indeed desperately need the security of marriage judging simply by the large number of delinquent children from single parent families and absence of children at all for want of any kind of family.

Mostly what these numbers represent is that there are a lot of people around.

Most of these numbers are repeated to make things seem worse than they are.

The most significant figure, how many first marriages fail, isn't actually listed as such it is very misleadingly described as 'terminated' hmm, why is that?

Lets take a look at some figures you dont list and see how likely it is that someone would die before they were 60, thereby 'terminating' a presumably successful marriage?

Divorces should be outlawed for the Children's benefit and the parents if they do something wrong should be taken accountable for their behavior.

I knew that most marriages do not work out. I was the product of a broken home as well. I had to make a leap of faith. Actually I was pretty sure I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing.
