Is it weird that my ex’s parents still gift my parents things?

My neighbor and I dated four years ago. Ideally both our families got along really well, especially our parents. Unfortunately the relationship didn’t work out and we had a really bad falling out. Although he’s married now, he still contacts me and our parents still speak because they’re neighbors.

2 weekends ago his parents left to attend their son’s (my ex) destination Italy wedding. His parents bought my parents two very expensive leather bags. This isn’t the first time they’ve gifted my parents things. Every Christmas or every time they travel they always bring my parents something back and it really bothers me.

Am I the only one that thinks this is weird especially because he’s married now?

but it is weird they gave them very expensive bags... unless y'all are rich and that's normal. i mean, they'd have to be rich since they had a destination wedding in italy ugh.
