Guys, how do you get over your ex?

It can take time, but the thing to realize is that if they're no longer in your life, it's because they're not supposed to be. There is someone else better down the road. But right now you have to heal yourself by taking the time to accept that the past is now the past. Have both quiet time and active time. With friends, family, or others. Do things that are not only fun, but things that will benefit your personal growth and improvement. With time it gets better.

The biggest thing not to do is try to get your ex back. Do not do this. You will stay stuck in the past and stuck in a loop of living life forever hoping. I made that mistake once, and spent a lot of time listening to coaches on how to get an ex back. Although a lot of their advice was not bad, it ultimately did not get my ex back, and it's not really a good approach to having a relationship. If someone is meant for you, they're going to be for you, and they are never going to be your ex.

agreed. but 1 thing i kinda disagree with is the final statement. sometimes, your soulmate can be an ex. but that’s my opinion, maybe it depends on the situation and the people? but top tier advice that i’m going to use, thank you man

but being an ex means you’re no longer dating. sometimes, you take a break and date others, but always remain in each others lives and eventually rekindle the love and it grows for a longer period of time than before

you can marry your ex and build a family, it’ll just be a crazy and long love story. those make the best ones too

@fibs4kt Nah. If you have to take breaks and date other people and need to keep rekindling love, then that's not love. True love is going to stay and won't feel a need to stray. I think it's extremely rare for exes to reunite and go on as far as building a family together.

Take up a new hobby or hangout with friends. Or burn it out in a good workout

honestly, find a new hobby like you’ve been hearing everyone say. but something else you can do is just fix whatever you did wrong in the relationship so that 1. you have something to do and put your time into, and 2. you’re better for the next relationship if you don’t get back with her or if you decide to date anyone again. not everyone is meant for love, and that’s ok. i believe i’m not but i’m also trying to get my ex back. but the best thing you can do is work on whatever you might’ve done wrong in the relationship that way you’re ready. and if it’s not for a future relationship, you bettered yourself for you.

example:

if you overthink a lot in relationships (like me), then work on living in the moment and just having your head clear. if you say the words “pink balloon” in your head, it should be like a river and go in one ear and go out the other ear. don’t repeat “pink balloon” because it has no meaning. that’s what overthinking is, it’s meaningless thoughts that stress us out and can mess with our judgement and our actions. i don’t think you have an issue with overthinking, but if you do or if anyone else seeing this does, another way to work on preventing that is by realizing that our thoughts are never true or false, unless they happen. why worry about something you don’t know is true or false?

overall, i hope my rant helps you out or anyone else. but just work on yourself man, and find new hobbies. spring is coming and you can go out more, relax, watch some tv or movies, and just work on yourself if you have things to fix. and if you don’t think you have things to fix, then find out what they are because we all have things we can fix about ourselves

best of luck man, i myself am dealing with something like this so i wish you the best. heartbreaks are horrible, i wish they didn’t exist but they do so we have to deal with them. it’s ok to get back with your partner, just depends on what happened and everything
