Of course it's different but the principle is the same: people get drunk as a result of their own free choice, and they are responsible for their actions when they are intoxicated. My girlfriend doesn't get drunk to the point that she can't control her behavior and she doesn't go drinking with other guys. She never puts herself in a position where that can happen. . . just like it's okay to get drunk if someone else is driving.
