Majority of my husband’s teeth are rotting and breaking. Advice?

I have tried everything I know from talking to him about it to booking him dental appointments that he majority of the time ditches. He is now starting to smell bad. Our 5 year old autistic son said to me, “Mommy, Daddy teeth dirty.” I’ve seen the disgusted looks people give in our inner circle. One guy he worked with told him he “out kicked his coverage” in regards to the looks of his wife. It is now to the point where one of his two front teeth is broken in half, both teeth are gone that would surround his right “k9”, and only one left that surrounds the other. And he still continues to eat sweet foods that I tell him he doesn’t need. I’m so turned off. He loves to tell me he likes to kiss but I do not want to kiss him especially since I have a little work to get done myself. But most of all because it’s a major turn off. I’m considering leaving because his other front tooth (main two) is half way gone and what’s left is on its way out. He really thinks I want to make love to that and it comes off very selfish. Why would you want to put your wife through that knowing you wouldn’t like that on a woman? Anyway, how would you go about this. We have two kids.

The biggest cause for abnormally dry mouth. W/out saliva bacteria grow far more rapidly. It might help if he cheese gum sweetened w/ Xylitol. Its supposed to support healthy teeth and gums. Anything that makesnhis. mouth dry at night e. g. alcohol soft drinks, cigarettes should be avoided esp. with in the couple hours before bed. The single worst thing for teeth is methamphetamine. The longer he waits the worse & more expensive it will be. Even if you have dental insurance but most insurance caps put at under $2,000. I don't know where you live but I've had to have multiple teeth repaired around SF, CA where everything is expensive. I had multiple dental issues once; tooth bridge 1 root canal ( needed 2nd dentists expertise) & 1 non-noticeable tooth pulled. The original dentist cost ~ $2,000; root canal from oral surgeon ( dental surgery) cost $3800, not sure professional title ofnguy who pulled out tooth, charged ~$1750. It took more than $8,000 cash + the $2,000 my insurance covered. Along with more pain than I was in market for; about 6-8 days no didn't work due to multiple appts.
Now I make sure to use electric toothbrush waterpik, and floss 2 times a day also made sure I drank plenty of water before bed. He's going to need to face the music eventually & the longer he waits the more time & money it will be.
Also, hospitals will often not do any kind of surgery with a patient with bad teeth. Bacteria from mouth van really get around often as far as knee. Dentists malpractice rates go up if another joint in body beta infected so most insist on oral clean bill of health before performing surgery. Sorry about length & bad news.

he doesn't care and is depressed. this is his decision and something he has to want to do. not be forced to (it's not working). obviously, this could end your marriage. but if he cared, he would do something about it.

Yeah. Take him to a dentist who actually knows what he/she is doing. ALSO (V IMPORTANT) depending on his age he might have a cardiac problem.
