How would you cope if your partner left you after a serious health diagnosis like cancer?

My ex left me after my cancer diagnosis and it really shook me. Now she wants to come back and I will never accept it. What would you do?

This is shockingly common. Most western women are fair-weather only. I knew a guy who was diagnosed with terminal cancer, his wife was gearing up for all of the attention cancer widows get. Later he went into remission and she was seriously pissed at him, treating him very poorly. He did eventually die and she got her social media adoration, but a few of us know the true story.

This is a very difficult situation and can be emotionally devastating. Getting back together with someone who has not been supportive during difficult times can be very damaging to trust. If someone has abandoned you in a difficult situation, it can feel like trust and respect cannot be rebuilt.

I would have a very hard time in such a situation, it would be emotionally devastating. If someone has left me in a difficult time, going back can be damaging to trust and respect. I would accept that carrying the emotional burden of abandonment is challenging for a healthy relationship going forward.
