Why would you not unfriend or block an ex on discord, your phone and etc?

I'd imagine it's because in those situations you either ended it amicably and you have no reason to or you were the one dumped and you may still have feelings for your ex and are hoping they contact again.

In my situation, I did break up with him orginally but we got back in contact months later ( he initiated). We got into an argument and he never said much else to me after that. I’ve messaged him twice since then and wasn’t blocked but he didn’t respond. I’d just imagine that if someone really doesn’t want to talk to you then they’d at least unfriend you

Not necessarily. I know that when my ex cheated on me, neither of us blocked the other for quite a long time until I finally did unfriend him after finding someone much better. He's still not blocked but he hasn't made an attempt of talking to me either.

probably cause they have other things going on in their life that are more important than obsessively making sure that their ex is blocked in litterally every possible app they have on their phone.

If I'm not talking with the person, I don't particularly care if they are around or not. Just so long as they aren't trying to sabotage me.
