I broke up with my boyfriend of two years about a month ago. The main reason was his inability to communicate properly, which held me back and took a toll on me. I always tried to help him, planned everything for us, and spent a lot of money to make him feel special, as he had a difficult relationship with money.
Our relationship was unique: we are 17/18, but I lived with him for 8 months due to a difficult family situation, and we lived in full symbiosis. He became the only person I had in my life. When I moved out on my own, I noticed the contrast. I got time for myself and new friends, and realized I had missed out on a lot. I doubted the relationship for half a year before the breakup.
I met someone at school who made me feel seen, which gave me enough confidence to end it. I know I hurt him, but I didn't want to lie to him anymore. We initially ended on good terms, but ended up sleeping together when we were supposed to talk. Then he decided he didn’t want me in his life anymore.
I said some hurtful things in anger (about communication and the person I met), but apologized the next day. He ignored it. He has been extremely rude and immature over text, and tried to rekindle contact with old flings. He said, "I don't quite understand how you don't realize that this isn't about me shaping up, but rather you," and blocked me, ensuring he got the last word.
I loved him deeply, and it hurts that he hates me and sees me as "toxic" after everything I did. I don't want to go back, but I hope that we can one day talk civilly and remember the good things we had.

It seems he thinks you just left him for someone else and blamed him for being the issue, which I guess the who is at fault doesn't really matter both of y'all should just move on, it seems he had a fast plan on what he was going to do and that's block you, I recommend just moving on as well
Yeah I’ve moved on at this point. I went to pick up some things at his place, it’s been a month since the break up. I went with a male friend of mine because he was gonna be there to support me. I didn’t meet my ex face to face, but received the things from his father. We saw his best friend and now he most likely saw. I got to say the last word over text, and he won’t be able to reach out now. I’ve said and done what I could, and now I’m honestly happy.
Nice, now keep making good choices, best of luck missy
He sounds like a little bitch who can’t take accountability. Move on, forget he exists. You’ll feel better
Thanks. And I agree, I just didn’t think he was like that at all. Like I know I hurt him, but breaking up with someone isn’t selfish when I gave my all in the relationship and didn’t get the same back.
