Why is my ex-GF avoiding me?

My ex-GF of 2 years dumped me for another guy a few months ago. When we broke up, she said she always wanted to stay friends, and whenever we saw each other, she was eager and happy to talk to me. She also spent a great deal of time telling me about her new Boyfriend and how happy she was.

Well, she and new Boyfriend broke up after a few weeks. Since then, she won't talk to me, seems to be avoiding me, and won't even make eye contact when she sees me. She doesn't know that I know she and the other guy broke up (I know through mutual friends), and the couple times I've tried to call her or email her, I've commented about her new relationship, so she could tell me they broke up, but she hasn't.

She's been dating a lot -- basically going out every night to the bars and trying to meet guys. And about a week ago (again, according to friends), she was 'freaking out' because I was sitting at a table in a bar next to a guy that she had gone out with twice -- she was worried I might talk to him.

So what's up with her? Why is she so worried about me knowing she doesn't have a BF? Why would she care if I talked to some loser she slept with? (I don't have a GF, btw)

To me it seems like her pride has been hurt! I know it sounds weird but, First off she dumped you for another guy! She was probably hopping this whole time it was going to be one of those relationships where everything worked out and now the guy has broken up with her. She doesn't want to see you because she'll probably think your going to be like(told you so)or(karma) and it was probably easier for her to have a boyfriend and talk to you like nothing happened because she assumed that's basically what friends are for. Now that she doesn't have one she's on the rebound looking for someone new when she really justs needs to find herself. Also instead of playing this I DON'T KNOW game you should probably just tell her that she can talk to you about other things besides boyfriend's and figure out where she is coming from and reassure her that your not enjoying watching her like this.

Yeah, I think you're right. After she met that guy, she spent a good half hour telling me about him and how he was so much better than me. I'm not trying to play games with her. Literally, she won't talk to me. I know if I could get her to sit down with me for a half hour, every thing would be fine. But she won't do it. Heck, she won't even say 'Hi' to me.

Any ideas for getting her to just fricking talk to me?

I think she embarrased. because she went broke up with you to go out with that guy and she thought that it was going to be permanent. but she guessed wrong. maybe she is avoiding you so you won't say.. "I told you so" or question her about it also. and I think that she knows that you know about it. like you said. "Mutual Friends".

Oh, that's a good point about the mutual friends. I guess I was assuming they were telling me stuff without her knowing, but I suppose I should assume that she knows they talk to me. Thanks.

Prolly just rubbing it in your face when she was with him. Now that its not working in her favor she's probably to ashamed and embarrassed to talk to you cause she knows she lost her little mind game.

As far as the loser she slept with and you talking to him...oh well...she can think what she wants about that. Best bet is to just keep doing what you're doing and not care

She sounds like a drama queen, she must assume you still have feelings for but the real question is why do you still like her, maybe you should find a new one, it would be better for you in the long run.
