I like and prefer tall women because I'm tall as well.
LOL who ever said we didn't like smaller girls? I noticed a long ago that I seem to have a type lol, smaller size and wears glasses, I've been subconsciously dating women with those two features for quite a while lol I've noticed all the girls I date have those two things in common, it's weird.

I like short women too. Unfortunately I'm 5'5", which is ridiculously short for a guy. I read somewhere that shorter guys like girls their height or shorter, but short women like guys that are 7-10 inches taller. That means, from a height perspective, that my ideal girl is between 4'7" and 4'10".
I guess I'm still a freak at 5'7 and at times like wearing my median-high heels. I can't careless if he's not 6ft (I was in a relationship with a nearly 5'8 guy).
By using that logic in your post, I'm guessing this would mean that 5'7+ women would still remain forever virgins unable to find a boyfriend because he's going to feel insecure if she wears her shoes.

Ugh, no. Why should the woman be shorter than the man? How is it awkward if the girl is taller? Why isn't it awkward for the girl that the guy is? I fall for tall girls, and by that I really mean tall (I don't know, 6 foot?), I seem to be an exception though, to each their own, but the "guy should be taller than girl" thing just has a really narcissistic feel to it.
Also, I get that this was written with good intentions towards short girls, but at this point you're just bashing on tall girls. Especially that "at that height they begin to feel more like a male friend than a woman", good job making tall girls feel like shit. There are so many things that are wrong with this take.

The fact is, height plays a big role in how people perceive you and it plays a little role in how well you do out in the business world. That's just how it is whether you like it or not. I'm not saying it's a good thing, and I'm not saying it's a bad thing. But just because you want to be politically correct about it, it doesn't mean anything. Height means a lot

I'm exactly 5 foot 1 and I find that it makes me feel slightly insecure regarding other people small and insignificant or childlike. But to counteract that I am submissive and I find it works in my favour that way, I can also fit into smaller kids clothing and people consider me cute so sometimes it isn't always a bad thing 😀

Actually I wear heels pretty often and I always get compliments about it. I'm not quite picky when it comes to the guy's heights since most of my crushes are either slightly shorter or at at the exact same height as me.

Im 5'1" and my boyfriend is 6'2". He says he either likes really short girls like my height or a girl that is as tall as him like there's no in between lol. He's weird. I'd say you're right for the most part about guys liking short girls. However, "short" is based on the person. You're argument that the average is 5'9 in the U. S. is alright, however, it really depends on ethnicity, geographic location, diet, genetics, etc. I live in a predominantly white area and most men are 5'11 plus, their wives/girlfriends ranging from 5'3-5'11. There are 318.9 million in the U. S. and growing. Saying that MOST men are 5'9 based on an average is just flawed.

Yeah, this is probably the main reason why most of my friends are guys. When I was 10, I was 5'4. All the girls were about 4'9. I've always been good at basketball, volleyball, kickball, soccer, etc. So I'd always be one of the first people to be picked for teams. I'm now 5'8 (last time I checked). But tbh, who needs a boyfriend when you have guy friends? :P

Hollywood also portrays slim as attractive. Hollywood is hypocritical in portraying women's height because women tend to be shorter in movies. However, in the modeling industry women are much taller. However, the modeling industry is based mostly on the vantage point of men and not women. The vast majority of women would never date a shorter man. As a result, many women see taller men as more attractive and by extension many men will see shorter women as more attractive.
