Telling me that I'll be offended is the best way to catch my attention. I agree with you that the guys you described sound like losers. However, you might also have an unfortunate way of presenting yourself. Physical attractiveness is very subjective. You making good money will hardly be important for a man who can support himself anyway. If anything, it will turn him away from the idea to pay for your stuff because that idea comes from a time when women literally had no money of their own, and thus it has a sexist vibe to it. And I honestly expected someone who works for the Australian government to express themselves a little more classy. Maybe I'm wrong to judge that since I don't know any other people who work for your government. And I don't know if you talk the same way in real life, I can only go by the text I just read. Anyway, your myTake is a nice break from the common fairy tale that women only (or even primarily) care about personality. Comforting lies never helped anyone.

I had no idea that Australia could be that much different from Europe. I've never been there, so I'll take your word for it. But I still don't see how this has anything to do with Asian women. Is there an abundance of rich and generous Asian women in Australia?
So you want a man. Who has his issh together or at least is trying to. You want him to have ambition, respect. How is this even high standards? Its not like you were asking for a 6'4, Adonis body, chiseled face young brad Pitt lookalike. Now that is high standards that maybe a handful of men in this world will meet. And why is it whenever a woman is confident in herself she is cocky? Its like we are supposed to be the most insecure beings ever. Why is it when women have standards we are gold diggers? It's like we are supposed to like whatever looks our way. And if men don't like this raise your standards and I mean what a partner can offer that isn't physical. And shoot to always better yourself but if your happy in your life good !
Amen! People always tell me that I am picky, but in reality all the girl needs to do is meet the same standards as the ones wanted from a guy in this take and I'm good. Sadly so many people don't do shit with their lives and screw around so not many people meet my moderate standards which makes them seem high. by the way confident girls are the only ones that me and many other guys like.
There's a difference between being confident and putting other people down. I congratulate her for her accomplishments but that doesn't give her the right to verbally castrate men. Actually both men and women can have feminine qualities. Women naturally have more feminine qualities than a man. Gender roles are based on biology. One of women's feminine qualities is sensitivity which gives her the innate ability to empathize and nurture. Women are naturally more nurturing than men on average. It's not sexism, it's science. I'm not saying women should have to put up with men's shit and be weak. You can be strong and still be feminine. My mother and grandmother were perfect examples of that. They were loving, caring, empathetic, and nurturing people. They were also strong, independent, and too shit from no one. Am I making sense?

The Subway guy doesn't get a choice whether to pay your bills or not: if he doesn't, he goes to prison. Yet, you have the gall to complain about him, while trumpeting your so-called accomplishments. If you really are talented (and you may well be), go and truly prove it by persuading people to pay for your services, rather than forcing them. The Subway guy, for all of his possible shortcomings, has managed that fundamental and genuinely rewarding accomplishment.

In the same token, it's totally fair for guys to have standards as well, physically and mentally, I'm ambitious skydive and am social plus attending college so I expect a girl of substance,
On the physical I have a condition that makes me shave my head bald at 20 but do have a great face and eyes that get regular compliments along with s slender build, and my standards on looks are still high, to me I only am interested in slender girls with great faces. Don't like to number but 7-8 usually is what I go for to give an idea, and I wouldn't lower that for the world.

In my experience when a woman says she has high standards, it usually ends up being superficial bullshit that actually drives away great guys who have a lot of great qualities.
I know a 33 year old doctor who only ever wants to dates doctors for example. They have to be older than her, earn more than she does, be tall, can't have prior children and have to be either white or Asian, nothing else. Her standards are superficial at best, and downright ludicrous at worst.
There are nurses, technicians etc that would have dated her (not anymore). Perfectly good guys with careers etc, but she counted them ALL out for not being doctors. Silly superficial standards don't make you happy. And they create an unhealthy scarcity mentality that'll often ruin the relationship if you find the perfect one.

Not dating a fuckboy shouldn't be high standards unless the bar has been lowered A TON since I last looked. If you're making good money, why would you want to date anyone who makes nothing compared to you, unless you want them to rely on you.
For number 3, if you like someone, I don't see any reason with dating them if you actually see something happening seriously with them. But don't just get with someone just to be with someone, that's stupid and dating someone for all the wrong reasons, and is kind of emotionally abusive to the other person

You don't sound like you have high standards. You sound like you feel entitled. I get that you want a man with ambition, but you mostly talked about money. You want a man with money, a fancy car, good job, house, and can buy you expensive things. To some it may seem like you're a gold digger. Its ok to have high standards, but dont get too cocky and think you are better than everyone else. I have high standards, but I know that if someone isn't as good as I am I can still give them respect for the hard they are putting in. Yes I agree if someone is lazy or doesn't work hard enough for themselves that that should be looked down upon. Not because you are degrading them, but it reinforces them to take positive action.

Ehh, my boyfriend works at McDonalds and earns more then me, I don't expect him to support me, I have my money he has his, I still like to buy him things even if he rarely does for me, why you may ask? Because I love him. Money doesn't measure love. We've been together for three years, throughout these years I've supported him, I even sent him $300 "just because" he's asked to borrow money from me and I lent him close to a thousand, and I didn't mind, he paid it all back, and even though he works at a fast food place he's saving his money, I don't really think bagging someone for their job is fair, if you put your mind to it you can save even on low wage. This Take just seems like an opportunity to vent. Going by what you have written and posted, I get the impression that you expect to be treated a certain way. A large part of how others treat you will be determined by your behavior. Money, degrees, houses, etc., don't entitle you to certain behaviors from others. How you behave will have a large impact on how people treat you.
As for having high standards, it's ok to have them but I think people with high standards should ask themselves one question. If there is someone out there who can meet my standards, why would they be looking for me?
Lastly, I'll say that this take could have been written better. It comes across as a sexist offensive rant at a whole gender.

Although saying that I can't help feel that if you were such the catch you think you would have found a guy meeting your standards, is it possible that the guys that meet your standards have their own standards that you are not meeting? A guy did a great take on it here but I can't find it based there not being enough college educated males to go around for college educated women and thus these guys are able to pick and choose the women they want as they are in such high demand because of college educated women's high standards.
