Go look at the HAPA reddit forum... the amazing hatred and fury is enough to make you think twice about how popular white men with Asian women is, ugh.
Granted you probably have a good starting point from someone with the same background but that doesn't mean dating from outside your ethnicity is wrong. It means you learn more new things, and thats never bad
I agree race mixing should be done freely without judgement, im all for it. However I dont think the only reason why older generations (and maybe some people in the younger generations) are only against race mixing for racist views.
lol you are throwing away your entire family thats irreplaceable for a relationship you dont even know is going to last.

Actually, if they are willing to shun you, they are the ones throwing away your relationship. Keep in mind, I'm talking about parents/friends/other who are specifically telling you not to date based on someone's race alone. That IS racist, and by simply agreeing with them and going along with that, what does that make you? Parents are NOT always right.
your life as an adult comes before your parents ignorant opinion. there is no excuse. if you let a family member change who you are seeing because of race you should be ashamed.
Yeah, so if your dad tells you to kill someone, you going to go along with it, because oh, my dad said so? You are your own person, and when you're out on your own, living on your own, paying your own bills, parents do not control you or your actions. Agreeing to break up with someone because a family member said, they were of a different race, is you confirming that you're racist too because there is nothing stopping you from saying, mom/dad, this is wrong to ditch someone on race alone and racism is wrong. That says a lot about your parents that they would get rid of you because you love someone who loves you back who happens to be of a different race. That is not your problem, that is your parents problem and a reflection on them.
Family is bound by blood to you, your partner is not. Strong family relations are more important than relations between partners, this is unrelated of racism. Maybe your family ties are weak but mine are not. We are a tribe, my nation is my extended tribe. Do i need someone of another tribe or do i need the tribe of my own people more? My priorities are made girl.
so in other words you are not your own person who thinks for himself because your family is like ''a tribe'' mytake owner, he lives with a whole other culture where cognitive reasoning clearly isn't valued and he has not been taught to question his tribe or extended tribe if they want to rule over his life with their opinions. you made a perfect example of him going with his ''tribe'' just because. you can't do anything for him. he's to lost
@imbored2252 its a case of individualism VS tribalism. Divided we fall, united we stand. I understand that for all of us to thrive all individuals may not have their way, it is only a small sacrifice to give up some of the individual's ego for the community. Besides, why do you look at love as such an absolutist concept, love is irrational, it is just a feeling. I can find plenty of people to love in my own race so why would i sacrfice my family to date a minority? For love? The rational must rule over the irrational, love must bend.
''give up some of the individual's ego for the community.'' in the situation where you family forces their ignorant opinion on you, who is the real one with the ego problem? what you are saying kind of goes against your point? like I said, dont question it, but that doesn't make it any less ignorant
@imbored2252 the individuals within the tribe can still think for themselves but they understand that together they stand stronger than alone, so why get someone from another tribe and sacrifice your family in the process if you can get someone that has more in common with you?
like i said, love is an irrational thing, it should not determine your life choices like that.
@imbored2252 Yeah, right about the time he started saying things like my tribe and we stand together, like this was a war he was fighting 3 centuries ago and not 2017, I realized, like you said, this guy is a lost cause and I stopped reading. If everyone is jumping from the bridge, this guy jumps gladly. No thanks.
Who would I tell? Or need to? Back then I assumed information was already being collected. This information is useless. It can't be stopped anyway. It only translates when its already too late!

My brother is white and my sister in law is black- they have the cutest kids. I think dating outside of your race is perfectly acceptable
I've know a lot of mix raced couples and I think it can be great, because people are people you know.
Don't mind dating other races, but we do have to have the same beliefs. I'm Christian and won't reject Jesus for anyone.
If I love him I have no problem, just I am more attracted to my own race. Like attracts like, you know.
I'm Asian, and I find it harder to find a cute Asian rather than a cute white guy. Maybe it's because I'm taller than most of them? I don't know
Dating outside your race can be an eye opener and a cool experience. You learn about others opinions and about yourself/partner.

I've never seen what the big deal with interracial dating is. Even if I grew up in a culture that does discriminate against them.
my racial preference is Asian so I would.
I don't actually find white women attractive or any other race but Asian so I will XD

@imbored2252 i disagree. I believe in family more than individual freedom.

@imbored2252 they dont force anything, you are not obligated to comply.
physical force is not what I am talking about nor is it the only way to confine people to their opinions. its called herd mentality

Literally current year meme.
Dating outside the race is a good thing but dating outside the religion is not advisable.
Amazing that the US Supreme Court didn't strike down such laws until 1967! Just two years before the first man on the moon.
Not gonna lie Dating outside my race is hard I do't how others do it But When I find out I'll come back and give you my response
I've had several interracial relationships and apart from some fundamental cultural values differing I see nothing at all wrong with it.
Who would I tell? Or need to? Back then I assumed information was already being collected. This information is useless. It can't be stopped anyway. It only translates when its already too late!
I have dated mostly out of my race. My serious relationships have never been the same race.
There is only 1 human race and I find any and all attractive, given they're my type of course lol.
I'm not dating outside my race but I don't care if others do
