Have you ever liked someone but kept it to yourself because you were too scared to say it out loud? I think almost everyone has been there at some point. The funny thing is, we live in a world where people share their lunch on Instagram and post about every detail of their day, but when it comes to telling someone “I like you,” suddenly our lips are sealed.
Why? In my opinion, the biggest reason is fear of rejection. Nobody likes to feel vulnerable, and rejection can feel like a personal failure. Another reason is that people don’t want to “ruin the friendship” or make things awkward if the other person doesn’t feel the same way.
But here’s the thing: if you never say anything, you’ll never know what could have happened. Sometimes the person might actually like you back but is also too shy to admit it. And even if they don’t, at least you’ll have the clarity to move on instead of wasting months (or years) overthinking.
What do you think? Is confessing your feelings worth the risk? Or is it better to stay quiet and let things unfold naturally?
