Easier, you say? Maybe for women who have their pick of the lot; but, males have to compete for a woman's attention with hundreds, thousands of other males.
@Rawrzz I agree. However, despite this it presents a new platform for opportunities which have connected people in various new relationships that may never have happened before.
Sorry, really, not trying to be rude, but that sounds like an overly, convoluted way to say "it still connects people." And that was never the question. The question was whether or not online dating made dating easier or not.
My point was a *lot* more competition with even the most average of females; whereas, in the past, there was only, perhaps, 10, max 20 guys in competition for a chick--usually only one or two, probably. Hell, it might be harder for women, too, *because* they have so many choices.
In any case, it would be interesting to see a study... A worthless but interesting study done on thus to determine whether or not dating was made easier by the invention of online dating.
@Rawrzz I also don't mean to be rude, but your viewpoint sounds more like whining than anything. I'm well aware of the fact that there's more competition, yet with online dating guys have access to more women than previously and there's the greater success rate overall, especially when you can search for people that fit exactly what you want, whether appearance, hobbies, or even the type of relationship you want. The same men having trouble with online dating now would most likely be having trouble dating in real life before. And of course this is skipping the increased unrealistic expectations that men usually have also.
Specifics, using Tinder as example: - No fear of rejection (matched so at least attracted to each other) - Talking a lot before actually meeting (getting to know them, especially important for females) - Quicker dealbreakers (unmatching those who aren't compatible) - Saves money (it's free) - Better for introverts (self-explanatory)
Ha. I'm asexual. I have no stake in this to be projecting. Interesting theory. Any case studies that back that up, I would be interested, as mentioned, in reading them.
I have a no texting rule with dating. If you want to talk to me... face To face only! If not face to face, then at least on the phone. I kind of follow one word from Fiddler On The Roof:

I can't count the amount of times I've seen families eating at a restaurant whilst all of them are glued to their phones.
Phones haven't just ruined relationships...
And yet with all the new dating apps and sites, dating is easier than ever.
