+1 yIn my experience, some are bitter and angry but not all of them. My current boyfriend is black. I have had black women insult me just because I'm in an interracial relationship and claim I am "stealing" their man.
However, I am also friends with black women who do not think this way. The fact is, no one "owns" members of their own race. We're all human beings. I don't get mad when white men date women of other races. That would be ridiculous.
People need to grow up and realize that race is not important. People can date whoever they want. Just because someone chooses to date someone of another race does NOT mean that person dislikes members of their own race. Race is merely a social construct anyway. People just use it as a reason to spread hate and ignorance. Like I said before, we're all human beings and that's all that should matter.63 Reply- +1 y
Also, if anyone is interested and has an open mind, I would encourage taking a look at this project developed by the American Anthropological Association regarding the biological truths of race and human variation and the history of "race." It is an exhibit in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History but this is the similar online version. It is extremely informative. https://www.understandingrace.org/home.html

People don't realize that race is a device meant to divide and destroy. We are all the same race biologically. Who your ancestors are depends on which root you want to go to. I'm black but have Native American and white in my ancestry. Everybody at least has those three in their ancestry here in America. Everybody. If not everybody then most everybody. It would be impossible genetics wise not to.
- +1 y
I completely agree. It's extremely annoying to me when I hear people try to justify their ignorance by claiming that all the races are biologically and scientifically different. Because that's simply not true. The concept of "race" was created to divide the human species and justify cruel acts against people who looked different. Variances in skin color are due to environmental factors and centuries of people adapting to their environment. However, all humans have a common ancestor regardless of "race."

+1 yNo. We are angry that it is always ONLY black MEN dating white WOMEN. It is more accepted for black men to date white women than it is for white men to date black women. We want to date outside of our race too but you never see that happen. We feel like our race does not want us and other races do not want us either. White women will never understand what we have to go through all of the time when it comes to love.

I honestly have no hate for white women dating black men. I think it is fine but I do understand why black women are upset by it. I have crushes on white guys all the time but I never get asked out and I know why. You will never have to go through that (assuming you are white).
- +1 y
This is debatable because in my area I seen a lot of Caucasian men dating darker skin women
- +1 y
Are you both white?
- +1 y
I somewhat agree. Lol. Because personally, I am into white guys more yet none have approached me ao I'm like..."okaaaay then. Are white guys realy into black women?"
- +1 y
No I'm not white, I'm probably what you would call "lightskin"
- +1 y
Yes. I have heard on many occasions that white men are afraid to approach us because they feel we will not date them but that is completely untrue. I love me some white men! Haha. I just think that white people (I honestly do not mean to offend) do not understand and never will understand the struggles that we go through. Do you ever notice how all the stars that are black females that white men say are attractive are always LIGHT SKINNED. Light skinned in America is seen as beautiful. As a somewhat darker-skinned African American it is really hurts me when I hear that. They just don not get it and personally I do not think they want to.
- +1 y
Exactly. One of you is white and the other is "light-skin". Things will be easier for you that darker skinned females.
- +1 y
Also I am not mad at white females. I am somewhat disappointed by Black Men though. Black love is a beautiful thing and it is so rare these days.
- +1 y
Yes. Easier for you. I respect your opinion and all but if you do not notice in commercials skin-bleaching is a huge thing. They make a lot of African American stars lighter because that is what this society is about. Light-skinned people = beautiful. Dark skinned = not.
- +1 y
Do not be blind to the world around you.
- +1 y
That whole dark skin not being beautiful thing is a lie. I'm sorry you feel that way.
- +1 y
my friend i am not the one who is blind to the world, you seem under the misconception that you find it harder in the dating game because of your skin colour? that is preposterous
skin bleaching is a big thing, i agree, but it's not to everyones taste as you seem to believe, personally i would find it difficult to date someone who did that,
the media does portray many light skinned black females as beautiful, i agree with you, but that is not the case for how everybody thinks and feels, it's a select group...and to be honest, many people do that stuff for themselves for their own idea of what is "beautiful" - +1 y
I do not feel that way. That is how society as a whole views it. I think dark is beautiful as well as light. I am not a racist at all. I have no problems with white people. I have problems with ignorant people. Everyone wants to harp on me for my opinions but instead of trying to do their own research or seeing what is right in front of them, they decide to ignore it.
- +1 y
not haring, to be honest i respect your opinions and even said i agree with some...the point i have issue with is that you are generalising white people to a certain frame of mind...that we only see certain things as attractive, which is simply not the case and is genuinely a saddening thing if you believe it
- +1 y
Society as a whole does and it is harder in the dating game. You as a white female cannot understand. How about you go look up these things? Then come back and tell me what you think.
- +1 y
I agree that not all white people feel that way. My best friend is white and thinks I am gorgeous and believes it is preposterous that people would not date me because of my skin color, but it is true.
- +1 y
Just saying I find it kind of funny how 3 girls have down voted my comment but 2 guys have up-voted it. Maybe women need to see what the guys see.
- +1 y
I do not think that. I even said that I have seen comments from white men that they like black women but are afraid to approach them in fear that we do not want to date outside of our race.
- +1 y
The world would be better if racism did not exist. Then this whole problem would not even be a problem. No one would care for interracial dating. But it does exist and it always will unfortunately. I just want to be accepted and I admit that I am a little biased. This is not because of my race though. It is because of where I live. My town is full of racism. It is sneaky and sly but it is there and everytime I go to school it is always right in my face.
Asker+1 yI think we all need to realize and accept...that people should live their own lives and date and have relationships with who they want to. And dont claim to know what other people go through.
- +1 y
I don't like the negative stigma either. I will not though, back down in saying I know what people go through. I do. I do not now what everyone in my race goes through because everyone is different but I can understand how they feel. I will defend my statement in saying that some one race will not understand the other because it is true. You can try all you want but until you experience it yourself you just won't know.
- +1 y
Thank you all for giving me different perspectives. I am a little emotional right now but I will take them all into consideration because the only way to better the world is to have knowledge of it.
- +1 y
Why do you think that it is purely your skin colour as to the reason why dating is hard?
I have girlfriends who are white that have trouble getting a date with black or white guys? - +1 y
I am not blaming it all on my skin color. I am not and if I gave that impression than I am sorry because I never meant to. I do believe, though, that in my town it is hard for a person of my color to get a guy because of the views of the people in my town. Many, many, many times I have been bullied or had someone comment something about my skin color. I am not saying that is what the whole world is like because I have seen it happen. When I tell people that I have never been in a relationship they are often surprised due to my personality and my looks. I am surprised that my sister has never had a relationship too. She is a beautiful young women and a very kind, funny, sweet and smart person. I am just saying that it has been harder for me to find someone because of my color. That is not the rule of thumb though.
- +1 y
Something is stopping me. The fact that every guy I like will not date me but will shamelessly flirt with me all the same.
- +1 y
Thank you for most helpful.
- +1 y
Where I live I see a lot of black guys with black women, white men with white women, black guys with white women, and white men with black women, White women also have problems finding people to date also so it is not just black women. There are people of many different races that have a hard time finding someone to date.
- +1 y
I never said that they did not and just wondering, what race are you exactly?
+1 yNo and those that are, are the ones that only date inside their/our race. Hell, personally, I don't care. There are other men in this world and me limiting myself to one race is just pue stupidity.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI'm a white man living in a white country, so I'm not gonna pretend I understand what other races and people in more diverse societies go through. But my guess would be that black women are tired of being made to feel they're somehow less than other women. Like they're not as desirable, like even their own race doesn't find them beautiful. Women need to feel pretty and desirable, society conditions them that way. So having to go through hard process of finding real love and feeling like they're at disadvantage before they even start - for something that is beyond their control, mind you - is really tough, I imagine. It's not an excuse to be up in arms, but if I were a black woman, I'd be pissed too.

+1 yNo, I don't care. I generally date outside my race. If anything, I've experienced the opposite. I've had lots of black men express anger and disapproval of my interracial relationships. My boyfriend has even been threatened with violence.
20 ReplyShouldn't have to say this, but no- a minority of women are not representative of a whole, entire race of women.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yOnly the black women who date black men are. Im not angry. I never really found black men sexually attractive or appealing personality. Im mixed with black. But hey if I can date who I want, then black men and men in general should
20 ReplyNo need to call out black women for this. There are certain individuals from every group that feel the same way.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 ySome are angry and others are not. For the ones that are angry it could either stem from racism against whites or self esteem issues that create a fear that black women can't compete.

Asker+1 yAnd you dont think black women are materialistic?
Asker+1 yReal..lol. I work with a lot of black women...the majority of them have weaves, fake fingernails, fake eyelashes. I think that is very materialistic.
Asker+1 yBeing materialistic is proven from the outside. And having weaves, fake fingernails and lashes proves my point. You must not know women that well. I do payroll for a manufacturing plant. We have about 350 people. Over percent of them are black women. So I know what I am talking about.
Dont be rascist here. And it was a natural reaction of jealousy

Asker+1 yWhy would you think I am being a racist. These are words coming from these black women's mouths. I didn't put them there. They are the who got on national tv and said they were sick of white women taking their black men. They put it out there.
