What do Japanese girls typically think of US guys?

My dream job is working with Nintendo. Two reasons this will not happen for a long time are that I live in the US, and I don't understand Japanese. I feel maybe if I wait until I live in Japan to look for a girl, I could date Japanese girls. What do you think?
