What it means when a guy says 'we should catch up soon' and then doesn't make any really plan?

I was talking to the guy I've been on a few dates with. Last night he was at a wedding and I let the conversation end so he could have fun. Then he said 'we should catch up soon!' This morning I replied saying 'yeah sounds good'. He opened the message hours ago and hasn't said anything.

Was I meant to suggest a time? Should I just wait? Halp

Well, I don't want to say wait.. Because that would make me think you're preoccupied by it, but just relax and forget about it. That's what I'd do.

He said 'soon' because he's probably busy and isn't sure of a time yet, otherwise he would have made a time already. Now I'm sure his situation hasn't changed in one night, therefore give him time and when his situation has changed and he's got a better idea of his schedule, he'll probably make a time.

Now he could have just been saying that and had no intention of actually seeing you, however I think it's more likely the above scenario. However don't get too caught up on it.

It probably means that he is expecting you to do so.
