The emotion is subjective. The fact of love is objective. It means to "will the good of the other."

If you say you love someone and then let them drink themselves to death, you may feel affection, indeed, love for that person, but it is NOT love. You may think that because you love them that your indulgence is showing them love, but it is not really love.

Whatever your feelings, the objective facts cannot contravene the essence of what it means to love. If you are not willing the good of the other person - or anything else, you country, your kids, etc,. - then you cannot claim to love them.

We have conflated feelings with facts, to the detriment of the latter.

I'd say subjective insofar as that only a subject can experience it and that it is defined as an experience. The mechanisms behind it can be measured objectively but the feeling of love cannot be measured.
