My boyfriend called me a retard. What should I do next time when he calls me one?

My boyfriend likes to argue and if I walk away from the argument he will call me names, like a coward. He purposely starts in front of my mum and stands over me and yells. He makes sure my mum is a spectator. Well today we had a
argument and he grabbed me around the stomach and was squeezing my back (really tight) he is aware I have back problems, I asked him 2 times to let me go (due to him hurting me). I had to scream at him to let me go and try to push myself off of him. He let me go and I went to walk to the living room where my mum was and he said “you’re a fucking retard”. And he was following me calling me a “retard”. I found it offensive, then he kept saying “hit me, hit me”, like egging me on. I didn’t do it, I’ve never hit anyone before. I just walked away and allowed him to call me a “retard”. My mum didn’t know until I told her after he left to go home and she said that she wanted to say something, but was scared to add to the fight. What should I do?

I have numerous of times, I will walk off or not speak and he will sit there and call me such horrible names. He will accuse me of cheating in front of my mum or out in public (he told me himself he didn’t care where we were, if he wanted to accuse me of cheating it will do it, regardless if it’s in front of my Mum, at a pub or in a shop. He even yelled at me in front of my 11 and 6 year old cousin). but he won’t call me names in front of her. If we are arguing, I just play on my Switch or PlayStation, hoping it will be quiet, but that never works 😑

I tried to tell him he is possessive, paranoid and a little abusive. But he will turn it around onto me. Everyday he accuses me of cheating on him, even if I add someone on my PlayStation 3/4 online. He will say “you added someone new again. Have you played with them? Do you know them? Where do they live?” Or he will go through my messages on PlayStation and see who has sent me a game invite. He made me delete Facebook, cause I added a guy from work and I am aware he has a girlfriend. I’ve tried telling my boyfriend but he called my work colleague a “backup dick, for when I’m single”. Everyone on my friends list (even relatives) my boyfriend has called them all “backup dicks”

His gotten into the habit of slapping me or punching me. When I say “can you stop it please”. He gets really snobby over it (acts sad) and says “I’m only playing”. But I don’t see it as playing, cause it hurts. If he doesn’t slap or punch me, he will bite me on the shoulders, pinch me on my chest (nipples) or on the back of my legs, pull my hair to the point he is pulling my hair out. I have never hurt him in anyway. I’m not sure what has made him get to this point, I haven’t done anything to make him do this. I am still getting over the shock and grievances of someone I was close to passing away, I have spoken to him about being still saddened over it and he said “get over it”
