Well, most things shorten life either directly or potentially. Best to enjoy the time you have enjoying the things you like in moderation. What's going to do me in? My occasional cigar or pipe, an accident while sailing or driving, an infection gotten while out fishing, some criminal in baltimore, kfc induced heart attack, slipping on the ice and breaking my neck? I have no clue. What I DO know is that I'm going to enjoy the things I like during the time I have, not bother about what some worrywart activist/politician wants to ban.
No, but the thing is. Smoking destroys your lungs, and can (yes potentially, but still likely) cause cancer. It seems to me like you're just trying to excuse smoking, since you can't stop. Also if smoking was bad or not wasn't my point. My point was that it isn't a hobby. It's drugs. And looking for a girl that has the same filthy habit as you, and then calling it a "hobby" is just plain stupid.
What makes you assume I can't stop? The smallest amount of pipe tobacco I can buy is one ounce. It's not uncommon for that to last me 4 months or more because I forget that it's sitting in the cabinet. I bought 5 cigars a month or two ago. I think I've smoked 2 of them so far. And as for cancer, there are a myriad of things that can give you cancer, or exponentially increase your risk of getting it. I'm in complete agreement that nicotine is a drug, but I reject the idea that the term drug means something bad.
@Hanni1 You don't seem to understand that people want to seek others who have similar (albeit potentially harmful) lifestyles. Saying that one lifestyle is better than the other because of shortening life isn't your decision to make. I feel like you're imparting your naive bias in place of accepting that we can make our own decisions and that we deserve respect regardless of their personal consequences. Do you eat fast food? Take shots at a party? Some choices people make are for temporary benefit of happiness. I meant I'd rather have someone who is happy with their lifestyle (healthy or not) rather than someone who may not be happy with their lifestyle. Smoking wasn't the issue I cared about, I'd just want to be with a happy and accepting person. Some of these concepts of living in the moment may be hard to understand given you're a 15 year old, who can't ask a girl out he likes.
Hobbies aren't everything to make a person more attractive to you. Personality and character play a big role in how that person does with the things they do. Doesn't haft to be always Male qualities.

Smoking isn't a hobby. It's a filthy habit that litterally kills people.
It's a sweet, delicious hobby that dovetails nicely with drinking whiskey and fishing.
I'd rather be with someone who lives life rather than focuses on death @Hanni1
So in your sense of "living life" you mean doing something that will shorten it. And that makes sense how exactly?

Edit: what makes you assume I can't stop, or that I even WANT to?
