What does it mean if a person doesn’t accept your follow request when they’ve been online?

On Instagram? I met this guy at a bar and he was so cute to me I couldn’t stop looking at him so I started talking to his friend and told his friend I thought his friend was cute so the guy told his friend that I liked him and he immediately came over to me and started talking in my ear. I don’t remember anything he said because I was drunk 😩 but he said like 3-4 straight sentences to me. The only thing I remember is me asking what his IG was. This happened almost five nights ago and he still didn’t accept my request but he didn’t deny it either. A couple days after I requested him I dmed him “Hi! 😍” (w/ the heart eyes emoji) And I started to figure that maybe he just doesn’t get on. But today I noticed his follow and following count went up by one which means he was on to accept someone else’s follow request but not mine? It still says “requested”. My page on IG is public and I have nice pictures too! I hope I didn’t say some wacky ass sh*t to him that night to make him not acknowledge me on IG yet, because if so, I don’t remember because I really was drunk!
